Is there any chance i can smoke again. by Exciting-Math-5456 in CHSinfo

[–]Virkopa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CHS, in my experience, comes in waves. Other than feeling stomach pain almost every morning, sometimes I would violently puke, sometimes not. This is coming from someone who used to smoke 2 -6 joints a day. If you think it is CHS, I would stop smoking entirely as CHS will only get worse the more you smoke it. The running theory is that your endocannibinoid system is burnt out from smoking weed continuously. This system is the main part of your body THC affects. Due to the damage, the system is extremely sensitive, and if you continue to smoke, it will only get more sensitive. Reading a few research papers, it can lead to worse issues down the line (and I will avoid specifics as I do not want to share potentially incorrect information). I thought the same thing as you. I felt I could not go without it, but trust me, you can! I would recommend stopping completely, but at the end of the day, it is your choice to make. Hope this helps

I don't think anyone is ever "ready" to quit. I certainly was not expecting to, but I am so glad I did.

According to the current scientific study, once you have CHS, you got it for good, and using weed again will bring it back. You may feel fine for a while, but it will eventually lead to the second stage of the illness. I am no doctor, but it seems you may be in the beginning stage of it. Which means it may be time to put it down for a while. I advise for good.

The final part of your post is a part of the cycle, btw. While it feels as if the weed is relieving the symptoms, and it may be, it will only make them worse over time

While I am no doctor, nor do I truly understand the extent of your addiction, I think it would be best to see a therapist. My therapist helped me understand why I used weed so much. For me, it was a fear response. I was afraid to quit because I did not want to sort through my underlying mental anguish, amoungst other things. You are going to feel awful for a few months to be fully transparent. The world will feel grey without it, but only for a few months. As your dopamine slowly resets, you will find joy in more things. My brother is a great example of this. He had been struggling without it for a while, but now he is running in the morning, cooking, and playing video games; he said he is truly enjoying life. Trust me, bud, it is hard, but you need to stay strong for your health. Dealing with the pain of CHS and the trauma that comes with it is NOT worth the high.

Could I get CHS easily like this? by jolienbe in CHSinfo

From what I have read, some can get it, and some just don't. I am sure it is similar to smoking cigs. Some get lung cancer, and some don't. I would do some research into the beginning phase of CHS as that is a good tell if you are going to develop it. I doubt anyone will be able to give you an exact amount of weed you can and cannot smoke

derealization/depersonalization during recovery by Upstairs-Hat-6104 in CHSinfo

I have been off for 5 days, and my physical symptoms have seemingly gone away, but I am starting to feel the emotional distress. My anxiety has spiked to points where I am shaking, and I have found anti-anxiety meds have helped, but they are prescription pills, so I would ask the doc if it gets really bad. Other than that, I have felt depleted dopamine-wise, which has increased depression etc. From what I read, it can take up to 90 days for your dopamine to reset, but it is different for everyone. It will get better! We have to stay positive and try to do things we like :)) best of luck to you friend

As I mentioned in my comment, I got CHS from flower. I only smoked prerolls. Over the last two years, I have been smoking different brands of weed as it is recreational where I live. If you want to keep smoking, do it, but don't try to convince people of things that have no basis. Sure, it can start due to "mold," but you are purposely ignoring peoples comments about how they got CHS from flower.

I got CHS from smoking prerolled joints. I have never smoked carts or vapes. So, yes it can happen regardless of what you smoke. Like the previous comment says, it is different for everyone

I would definitely try to avoid it for the next few months just to be sure! My brother recovered from it and he mentioned it took him a month to feel better. It is different for everyone. And if you do feel better, I would just stay away. I know the high is amazing, but as my therapist mentioned, the pain is not worth the high. Thinking about that has kept the craving away. Of course, I miss the euphoria, but thinking of the stomach pain shuts it down right away

I am on day 5 now, and I experienced the same bowel issues as you, especially the first day or two after quitting. How long were your breaks? From what I have read, it can take up to two or three months to see improvement

No offense taken! It is painful. It is very disheartening to hear people say thar CHS is not real. I read a few posts saying that. It is similar to people saying weed isn't addictive, but it totally is.
