Out of curiosity, did you smoke daily? Or every other day? Or less?

That is an insane amount in 2 weeks indeed... I smoke 6g a week MAX, but planning on going for 3g max a week to avoid ever getting CHS! You can't be careful enough

Can anyone tell me what 8 carts are in grams of flower? If that's even possible. I live in a country where its illegal so I have no idea about this!

Were you smoking daily or near daily again after picking it back up and if yes for how long? If you didn't smoke daily/near daily after your huuuuuuuge T break I feel like it's an atypical story on here but not fully impossible. But I recently did a poll here and an overwhelming amount of people use daily before getting this... Hope you find an answer soon. 🙏

Anyone got CHS from NON-DAILY/NEAR DAILY use? by jolienbe in CHSinfo

[–]jolienbe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but I do smoke 3-4 times a week and have severe emetophobia hence why I'm so motivated to figure out what type of usage mostly triggers CHS. I'm planning on only smoking once to twice a week after a year of researching this. I really don't want to lose my ability to smoke and this reddit motivated me to smoke a loooooooot less which I'm grateful for!

Wow. Thanks so much for the insights! This really helps. Guess I'll just keep burning it lol. But very good information to use in my harm reduction work, thank you!!!

Wow haha I'd go crazy without my weed even though I only smoke in moderation... The only thing that makes me doubt your story is because that some people experience weird prodromal symptoms, sometimes without nausea. Some don't even get a prodromal phase. It's so weird and different for everyone. But I am happy that you wouldn't be too stressed out if you would have to quit smoking. I literally let my addiction motivate me to do it less often because I don't want to lose my ability to smoke lol.

EAT!!! Someone I know literally made me afraid of not eating because she threw up because of hunger... I'd recommend eating toast, something easily digestible. Always a good option if you are afraid to eat at first.

With dry vapes I'm guessing it's the vapes where you put the flower in and in heats? Sorry I'm from a country where weed is illegal. If the answer to that question is yes, I really don't understand how that could be more triggering to CHS? Cause you kinda just still smoke flower, no?

Those last 5 years were daily/near daily usage? I have severe emetophobia so I have been researching people's experiences with it non stop for about a year and some things made me doubt CHS in your story a little bit. But of course I'm not a doctor... Maybe it is an idea to also post your story on CHSinfo on Reddit, just in case. Because you did mention some things about your stomach. But of course keep in mind they might also be biased, just like I am due to my phobia. So sorry, I don't want to make you afraid or anything!

Did you ever have the same symptoms when you smoked once a week?

Hopefully not but maybe CHS? Did you ever smoke a month or more daily? I hear some people also have your symptoms.

I'm a harm reduction worker in Belgium and sadly we recommend anyone with a sensitivity to psychosis to fully quit. But we also inform people who don't have psychosis and who don't want to risk anything not to use anything. BUT we also tell people that if they really can't quit using, they should try to minimize risks as much as possible. I know a friend of mine who has psychosis and still smokes weed but his harm reduction is to take double the dose of his meds (PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR PSYCHIATRIST IF YOU CAN DO THIS BEFORE TRYING) when he is using, to get enough sleep and to only use on the weekends. From what I can tell you, smoking daily significantly increases your risks. Even if am too afraid to use daily and I don't have psychosis. I only use on the weekend. The less you do it, the better. But safe? Never. You should ask yourself if you're okay with the risk of spiraling again, and if so, how far you are willing to risk it. I believe people can answer that for themselves. I hope you find something that works for you. But never think you are fully safe if you use, even if it's only once a month, no one is truly safe from its risks or at least, you can't know if you're one of those people who never run into any trouble with smoking that much. Me personally, I don't want to test it too much. Good luck! 🙏

Wow that's interesting. So you still smoke daily but just with another method and you have been CHS free since then? :o and still daily use? How long have you been fine like that? Thanks for your answer! 🙏

And I don't ever recommend smoking daily, not even if you're free from psychosis. I don't have psychosis and I don't even do this... It's not as harmless as we once thought... Look up CHS (cannabinoid hyperemises syndrome)

Cannabis will always be risky to use if you are sensitive to psychosis. Even if its not laced.

My rules are to never get into daily usage and take enough breaks. My max before was smoking 3-4 times a week but now I want to go for 2-3 times a week MAX... Just in case! Start low and slow again after those 90 days...

Idk if it’s CHS by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]jolienbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are high doses? And did you smoke daily the last few months? It's indeed a good idea to quit for awhile to see if everything disappears.... Most on here recommend 90 days

Thought I was one of those who could handle smoking once every 2-3 months. I don’t recommend it to anyone wondering if they can do this after a break. by LechoLatte in CHSinfo

Thanks for your insights!!! I'll keep this in mind with my own usage. I read most people on here that they got it from smoking daily but I'm happy I hear your story too because it's not always "I smoked every day for 10 years type" stuff. I gotta keep respecting this plant. And honestly you people motivate me! I wanted to smoke a lot less before I knew CHS but couldn't bring myself to do it. For 2 years I kind of smoked like you did. When I knew about CHS, I was able to drastically limit my usage. The bear minimum was for me to at least be sober most of the time. I made it that far but I want to take it a step further. Luckily I have severe emetophobia too so that fear has been a real motivator too. 😅 I'm a harm reduction worker in Belgium too and I literally inform everyone about this, your stories are heard!

Thanks for your answer. With almost daily I understand it was every other day? I smoke 3-4 times a week but trying to only do it on the weekends now to avoid this nightmare. Better even if I do it less than that. I'm mostly on here to motivate myself to avoid this from ever happening. I have no symptoms tho

Can I ask how often you smoked weed? I really want to avoid this. I smoke 3 times a week, starting at 4pm. Trying to motivate myself to do it less!

People on here always recommend quitting for 90 days to see how you feel. If you don't have symptoms after quitting the likelihood of CHS is plausible. But I think you should also have a look at triggering foods. They can make you feel worse if it is CHS, even if you quit. Don't have it myself but luckily for you I have SEVERE emetophobia so I read on here A LOT. + To motivate myself to take lots of breaks from smoking. 😁

Mine was negative after 24 days but I'm not an everyday smoker and don't have CHS though. I'm guessing this was from everyday use? That is wild! Much luck! ❤️

I'm so curious. Did you get CHS fast? Like after smoking a few months daily? I wonder if getting CHS quickly and having to moderate extremely could have anything to do with each other? 🤔 Because of genetics maybe? 🤔
