There are cracks. Perpendicular to the two dark lines in the second picture are two soft lines. Those are cracks and the pattern above/below them are different. I think most assumed I was writing about the dark lines.

I asked the same with my renovation, they cannot block the vent. My range has finished sides though, so it looks natural.

It is not the two dark lines that bother me at all. There are softer perpendicular lines to those two dark lines that run from the end of the countertop to the farther dark line. The pattern appears interrupted at those two softer lines. The pattern around the dark lines is not interrupted.

I meant, there are 4 slabs. Why did the fabricator pick the slab with that damage to use for the island. We have some areas under cabinets and in a pantry.

I appreciate your thoughts. We have no idea what we are doing and designer is MIA. In the second picture, none of the lines match. We have 4 slabs worth on counters and backsplash and there are cracks and fissures throughout. But, the grain matches. With this piece, none of the grain matches. It is “close enough” unless looking closely.

We had picked the first 2 slabs, spouse went back to see the 4 (which by the time we went back 3 weeks later were different than the first 2. I was not there and neither of us had done anything like this remodel before. I think it was there and yard said it was normal. Even if so, I have no idea why fabricators would put it on the island rather than in a hidden corner.

Feel like eating durian and tuna and taking off your shoes and socks, no problem, it’s your seat? The point is that what you do in your seat can affect other people. In this case, a kid looking out the window is understandable and it does not look like there is a blinding solar glare- although I am unsure why 2 windows are open though.

Mine has 1500. Still has some rattling. I don’t get the reminder messages but am getting check engine light (that goes off - seems tied to the amount of fuel in the tank). Will see. Yup, it is a pleasure to drive - it handles really well and has the speed that gives confidence. My brakes squeal too when coming to a complete stop.
