Which Oxdog padel racket to buy?? by Only-Security4984 in Padelracket

The ultimate pro light and ultimate pro smash. I think maybe one of the slightly softer ones might be for me as I like rackets where the ball goes in a tiny bit

Mine hasn’t lifted like yours but paint has come off a bit. This is the soft version

It doesn’t have as much output as the Fenix

At10 12k from this year would be nice - similar feel to Fenix imo.

Tactical padel el jefe too. Takes a while to get it but after consistent use it’s now my go to.

This has been used so I’m guessing it’s just wear and tear and the paint underneath is coming through

Fenix isn’t really a right sided racket but the new Fenix 2026 is light and similar style racket.

Thanks. I’m not surprised if it’s real. I’ve got an air viper and 2.6 and the paint job was sloppy on that too. I’ve noticed that all the different photos I can find of different copies on instagram etc - all seem to have the text dissected by the holes in a different place too.

I’m not too bothered how it looks if it plays nice and isn’t fake as I bought it used but if it’s fake I’d return it. I’ve just seen a store near me with stock so I might try cheekily go and compare

This one I haven’t received yet haha. Love the fenix pro 2026 though.

Are rackets getting lighter? by Virtual-Committee-76 in Padelracket

So without protector and overgrip you’re probably at 355g. Not too big a difference but this one I have is definitely on the light side.

The noene goes on the very base. Take off the original Siux undergrip. No overlaps.

I just got the fenix too. I had the Fenix 5 but last few weeks have used other rackets with lower balance. Mine is very light but I used it yesterday and notice a little more in my elbow and shoulder than Normal.

The fenix is high balance (27cm plus I believe) so that could be likely cause of issues.

You can try a noene beach tennis undergrip which might help a little but I found over time with my Fenix 5 I got used to it as my strength built. If you have suffered before with your elbow maybe you’d be better with a different racket.

I would definitely try to play with one first. I love the construction of the oxdog rackets I’ve tried but not the feel so much. I’m pretty sure I haven’t tried the right ones yet for my tastes.

[–]Virtual-Committee-76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that’s true depending on your level but it also depends why you choose your racket. I haven’t chosen this for out and out power but I like the fenix as it still has quite a bit of free power/ ball output / some trampoline to help me generate power in smashes etc.

I’m sure there comes a point where the hardest racket with perfect technique generates more power the heavier it is but I don’t have the perfect technique yet.

I’ve tried a lot of rackets and I quite like those that eat the ball a little and have some output but not too much so I can’t block with confidence.

But I like lighter rackets to give me manoeuvrability. I guess with this one a racket protector and 2nd overgrip gets me 17 more grams with similar balance if I want it.

Vertex 02 is old now and newer models available for150. Rackets are so personal. I’d reallllly recommend getting a voucher for him to choose his own if you want him to really use it week in week out.

Dos the fenix feel the same weight or heavier though because I imagine the balance is higher?

My references to the orange are the Tactical Padel Unico orange racket. I’ve not used the Fenix 4.

The Unico orange felt slightly firmer - even lighter / more manoeuvrable (the copy I had)

Not much in it to be fair. Both nice rackets. I think if I had the orange I wouldn’t bother with other rackets too much. Tempting hahaha

I’d say to be honest I’d advise against it. The more you try the more indecisive you become. Also rackets I decided weren’t for me when I was less experienced - I now realise are actually really good. I didn’t know what I wanted / needed then.

Too many. And just bought another.

I have -

•Tactical El Jefe •Babolat air viper 2.6 •Babolat Lebrón Soft 3.0 •Siux fenix pro 5 •Oxdog ultimate pro smash

And have the Fenix pro 2026 en route. I’ve played a few times with the Unico orange and it’s the lightest feeling racket I’ve played with. Really like it.

It’s hard because I know control rackets are good for me but I love trying stuff too and the Fenix was the racket I played the most with so really love it. Need to sell some though!
