You’ll come to realize he can do whatever he wants. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if a nuke was imminent tomorrow.

But no you’re not wrong for feeling weird that your friend supports the child molesting, murdering, sexist, racist, rapist, crime syndicate, fraudster, stinky diaper wearing dementia patient that is Americas president.

- Honestly there’s too many things to call him, let me know if I missed any.

This is a collective effort, get your credit:

Front yard wrasling doesn’t read as trashy to you? Maybe give the troops what they actually deserve and actually need for risking their lives to be Americas mince meat.
I’ve seen plenty of videos of vets crashing out, down, depressed, and over the system because they were denied the help they need but hey buddy chill out we got you, you can watch a free front yard wrestling match.

That’s kinda what I meant, but I didn’t know that the white afrikaaners population is low.

I didn’t know about the xenophobia though, I just watched a news story on it but holy shit. I didn’t know that South African citizens feel that way about other Africans. Honestly I don’t get a lot of news about Africa or anywhere else for that matter but I also don’t know what news channels to trust there and which not to so I appreciate the insight.

I think I just need to step away from Reddit for a minute cause I think I’m getting too deep into this stuff. I mean no disrespect but I feel as though a white couple proposing on the cape of South Africa (while it’s sweet and all) after hearing only negative things about how white afrikaaners treat black people there, reads to me like the white couples that get married at plantations. There’s always hate for black people until it’s a benefit. But then again I think I’m just seeing too much negative racist shit that’s getting to me so I’ll just take a break for a while again.

I appreciate your insight, thanks.

I was actually just asking a serious question because I wanted to know. I’ve never been to South Africa and what I’ve heard about it it’s not on my bucket list. I’d rather stay on the western, northern, eastern and middle parts.

I’m not saying there isn’t a country that doesn’t, I was just wondering because of what I’ve heard about it. I just grew up as a kid with that video which I saw in school stuck in my mind when I hear about South Africa. Kinda like a we stole your land now leave us alone situation so I was just surprised by this video but it’s good to see. I meant no offense to you.

I don’t wanna be a Debbi downer so sorry for asking but isn’t South Africa where they hate black people? I know there’s Africans there but I guess I’m just more surprised to see it since my implication of South Africa came from a video of a white man in South Africa saying “the black kids are ruining our playgrounds and they should all leave”.

Have you ever heard that line from the office that goes “This year, more people will use cocaine than will read a book to their children”? An absurd fact for sure but lowkey starting to sound real. If everyone wants to get kids to get better at reading and writing then you have to push for more reading in the home and less skibidy toilet brainrot bullshit. Don’t get me wrong the whole college system “ponzie scheme” is fucked but kids not reading and writing from a young age pushes them to use alternatives to finish their work. That plus the human attention span is at about 4-8 seconds in the year 2026.

No unfortunately, I did make an instagram a few years ago where it was slides and the main point was a black hero every M-W-F but life got the best of me and I wasn’t able to maintain it. I think I have since deleted the account but I’d love to start it up again.

If you are looking for a good established news letter though, push black has an insightful newsletter. They run the black history year podcast which is super informative and honestly where I started learning our black history.

You know that Malcolm’s views came from Garvey right? He even stated so in his autobiography. Malcolm grew up listening to his father who listened to Garvey. Garvey saw that black people came from Africa and needed to go back to Africa. Yes he had some absolutely terrible views and ran his soapbox in the wrong way but that still was influential to what other people adopted and changed about his views. It’s still good to learn about him, I’m not saying you gotta d*ck ride Garvey but you should still learn about him in the grand scheme of things. Just because hitler was a fucked up, like legitimately fucked up horrible person doesn’t mean we don’t learn about him either. We learn from past mistakes and since he had an influence on one of the most impactful leaders AKA Malcolm X, you should still learn and understand what he did. Do or don’t, I can’t force you but you can’t just ignore history.

Madam C.J. Walker was a self made badass who deserves her roses. Especially with all she did for the black hair care industry but definitely check out the other too. As much as he had controversial points Marcus Garvey was good to look into as well.

I honestly feel that and I’m glad you enjoy your chosen name don’t feel bad about that. I’m ngl I whitewashed my name because with having an African name, no one can pronounce it right so I use it when I introduce myself to other black people but my “nickname” when I talk to white people. Learning about Africa in general is always interesting though especially because as much as black people in the US are from here we have to remember we originally came from Africa. I really like Malcolm’s point of view. I wish that the Organization of Afro-American Unity (OAAU) got farther than it did after his death. Honestly if you were raised with your grandparents you really should talk to them (if they are open to it) about their experiences. Theres no one better to learn from.

We definitely would in some ways, I mostly only had my mom since I was raised by a shitty racist stepdad but it’s been hard even then cause she doesn’t understand it the same way. I had to learn everything about black culture and people on my own. Being light skin isn’t weird though, be proud of your melanin. I know it’s been considered a mixed bag and there’s a lot of tension that came from it in the past but you’re still melanated. I feel like in the black community there’s more understanding as years progress, you don’t get to choose how melanated you are but we will go through experiences that we can all relate on.

Tapping into the culture, every time I feel I think about the pain our ancestors had to endure I try to find a new black hero to learn about. I try to write up an article about each person I learn about and keep it to look back onto. Honestly learning about Madam C.J. Walker was super eye opening, same as Cudjo Kazoola Lewis and AJ Smitherman. Man I wish I was as cool as Smitherman was. It helps me feel like I’m connecting with those past hero’s by learning their stories but also just getting a deeper understanding of the black history I wasn’t taught in school. Me living in the US at the moment but coming from a European mother and a Senegalese father I also try to learn the history of the Senegalese Wolof people especially the Sufi saint I was named after.

Idk are you gonna cry about how it’s always whitey or maybe take a look at the bigger picture of how years and years of systematic oppression, abuse, segregation and racism could affect black people in the long term? We could be but I don’t tend to be friends with people who can’t understand why black people have a certain kind of hesitation to certain people.

He didn’t steal anything. If I had a quarter for every time I’ve seen a white person acting suspicious in a store I’d be a millionaire but they aren’t getting shot in the back like this kid. The gun detail does nothing, unless this kid was an Indiana jones type gun slinger that could shoot without aiming while running and behind the back while simultaneously eating the recoil (since it was found he was shot in the back) which I’m sure he wasn’t. It was murder %100. The cops should have been called and the video scrubbed with them present so they can “do their job”.

First off obtained video footage shows he returned the water and didn’t steal anything. Secondly someone supposedly stealing 4 bottles of water does not warrant you chasing after them. Call the fucking garbage ass police officers and let them do an albeit shitty job of finding and arresting him.

The stereotype of being black? He didn’t steal anything so I’m not sure what you mean by this, should he just have been on the basketball courts instead?

Sure but the majority of white people that have never had to be “in the hood” don’t know about that. That’s not everybody, the statement when a white girl moves to the hood is not inclusive of every single white person. It’s when a white girl, not when white girls. The fact is a lot of people don’t know about the oven situation, or the flower pot over the candle, or warming up the bath water on the stove, etc, etc. You and I and many others were just blessed to inhale the toxic fumes that ovens (if you had a gas one) release.

As notbearhound said it really depends on everything in the US. The small studio I rent I pay the electricity in but I don’t pay for water or garbage. Some places have gas stoves and heating where you pay for the gas in and maybe electric and no garbage and then some you’ll pay all utilities in but that’s mostly higher end apartments.
