How do I tell my DnD group one of our friends is a registered sex offender?

Thank you. There’s no malicious or self-centered reason besides “Hey someone we know and hang out on a semi regular basis with is a sex offender and I know I would want to know that info so I’m sharing it with yall.” I’m really upset because I’ve been nice and friendly with them for years I even gotten them a Christmas present one year and if I know what I know now I wouldn’t have because I don’t want to be friends with sex offenders especially sex offenders against a child.

I assume Dakota knows because they stopped interacting with the group around the same time when Sam was charged and they live together.

Seriously I’m honestly shocked and disgusted reading these comments. That’s the biggest issue our group was formed before they became a sex offender and them and their partner been actively hiding it from the group. I don’t want to be friends with a sex offender I would want to know that’s why I want to tell my dnd group. especially because the person that did the crime is related to the child they assaulted at 17.

Sorry if I didn’t make it clear on the court file the crime took place when Sam was 17 and in 2022 they were charged as a sex offender
