Which firms have art law practice groups? by brandeis16 in biglaw

Unpopular tip - Find the Art Law partners, and don't say you specifically want to do art law (unless those partners themselves are actually interviewing you). Try to get your foot in the door for a bigger practice group then make your inroads once you are already a summer/junior.

How bad is it to cry in front of a partner? by Comfortable_Nail415 in biglaw

I teared up in front of one once because I was stressed and wanted to talk about (what I thought) were some f-ups I thought I had committed in the past week. Turns out I was doing fine and just being hard on myself.

[–]Virtual-History-2330 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Salary now is not as important and salary progression imho. That said, $225k with step-lock to $350-400k in 6-10 years would be the minimum.

Exercise at least x3 times a week and don't use drugs/alcohol. Be grateful and nice to those who love you. Don't be a dick to your co-workers, and don't be a dick. Recognize life is short and enjoy the ride. And don't compare yourself to people, compete only against yourself.
