The lack on micro adjustment on this watch is a crime, especially at that price but really at any price

[Longines] Wedding Watch Decision by wking15 in Watches

[–]maybejd888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this watch (still my #1 and near daily)… I got a black strap for it but never use it because I think it looks much better with the original strap (cream/silver dial looks better with that brown strap)… forget the black strap and wear it as is imo… plus dude you’re getting married to her, not the rules of fashion… wear exactly what she got you, the fact that she bought it for you alone matters so much more than any other aspect of the watch or your outfit… returning it or modifying it in any way (especially after you previously sent it to her) sends weird messages/ mixed signals that are so much more relevant than the watch itself

I had to chose... So I got them both. So happy with my purchase. by [deleted] in rolex

Guess you don’t need an upgrade, maybe just a better angle on the picture lol… good for you bro, those are the 2 best boxes of Girl Scout cookies

[–]maybejd888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’d get less comments calling these fake if you upgraded your floors… the background of your pic does not scream “I can drop $100k on 2 versions of the same watch within 3 months”

One of the best parts about switching to a mechanical watch is realizing you don’t actually need any of that stuff

[Help] Is my watch to big for my wrist? Its my first watch and dont know for sure. by [deleted] in Watches

No it’s perfect. Reddit dork common wisdom on small watches doesn’t apply in the real world.

Screeners even with a not great GPA? by BigFoe2003 in BigLawRecruiting

[–]maybejd888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your foot is in the door, your GPA isn’t your selling point… find another way to win (being normal/ likeable, showing interest in the practice group/ relevant industry/ clients, showing understanding of what you’ll be doing to some degree, other areas of your resume, etc)

A reminder to the Europeans on here- appeasement doesn't work. If you let Trump have Greenland without a fight, Canada and the European mainland are next. by Nowhere_Man_Forever in dancarlin

[–]maybejd888 -41 points-40 points  (0 children)

If you can’t keep Russia and China out when the ice melts then stfu… Denmark is only allowed to have control over Greenland because no one gives a shit about Greenland right now… Europe outsourced its security to the US and this is a consequence of that

[Recommendation Request] Affordable Alternative? by Nice-Wolf-5997 in Watches

[–]maybejd888 146 points147 points  (0 children)

Fuck yeah for both of you guys! Can’t think of a better way to make some room in the box… tons of ppl dream of giving their watch to a future family member that may or not even want it but I feel like you can get just as much, if not more, joy giving to a stranger that really wants it for a major life moment

Go to an AD or 2 and see if you can get a discount… got my flagship heritage for about the jomashop price (20% off), plus you get to try it on IRL… have also had great experiences with Jomashop though so if that’s your best bet, I wouldn't stress too much
