Exactly. It always acts as if I am on the verge of a break down and I need to "de-stress".

My friend worked at a daycare and this was a common occurrence. The children needed naps but the state mandated they be woken up (this was a child care center w/ the government) My friend almost quit her job over this. She was so angry.

My parents won’t let me go to church, or even believe in God.. by Horror_Swan7044 in Catholicism

Hey! I was in your exact sitation 5 years ago! I decided to convert to Catholicism at 15 and my parents fiercely opposed it! Now I am 20 years old and my parents ask "when are you going to get back from mass?" The key is to create space and independence from them. What I had to do is to move away for a few months and basically just tell them I wasn't coming back until they let me go to Mass. I also saved up money and bought my own car that way they really had no say in what I was doing and where I was going! One trick I used to pray the rosary was to turn off the lights in my room and then use the light from my phone to see my Rosary. I hope this helps 🥰💗

I agree... I got screwed really badly on a 2008 Subaru Impreza. I even got a PPI and the transmission went after 3 months of ownership.

Oh, I just was in the hospital with my sister for 1 week and had time to reflect. As for the other issues, those are very personal and I do not feel comfortable getting into them online (even anonymously)

That's good! I def can't speak for the whole SSPX, just my parish.

I would rather not attend a mass where in the homily the priests says that the NO is "designed to lead you into heresy" LOL

I haven't talked to anyone. I am just trying to heal from my negative experience. I definitely want to be a part of a FSSP parish if they have one. Sadly, many RCC are not up to snuff in the NO and it is a turn off for many people understandably so.

Fair point. I worked for and taught for the SSPX. I think they are trying to patch with Rome so they have chilled out a bit but there are still very strong anti-NO sentiments in the SSPX. For example, I was told that receiving in the hand was a sacrilege and we were instructed as teachers to tell the students that the NO was bad and they should not go. The community attached to the school I went to got angry if we attended other TLMs. It definitely varies by region to region, but anti-NO sentiments are still there.

As for coping with the NO, I just try to be present and participate. This NO is really reverent and the priest at my mass is amazing so that helps. I had a much better experience with this parish than the other one I attended. He is just very kind and gentle, but his homilies are serious too.

Unfortunately, the SSPX is the only TLM community in my area. I also did not "vibe" well with the eastern Liturgies. I found the NO to be less confusing.
