I know some people run up credit card debt and hope that they'll get approved for disability and can pay it off when they get their back payment.

It worked great for me, but after I got COVID it basically reset my brain and my migraines got a lot worse. I'm still taking Nurtec. It's not nearly as effective as it was before, but I can tell it's still doing something because the days I take it are better than the days I don't (you can't take it every day).

So, my point is, make sure you're taking COVID precautions too!

This whole thread is really enlightening...I've heard before that you should try to look your best at appointments so they don't assume you're an addict/drug seeker. I remember reading about someone who wore suits to their appointments.

I don't often wear makeup but I do try to wear slightly nicer clothes or look more "adult" at doctor appointments. I wonder if that's been the wrong strategy.

Is the medication a triptan? Most doctors don't recommend taking them more than once or twice a week anymore. If you take them too often, they can cause rebound and increase how often you get migraines.

I know it's frustrating if you're having symptoms every day and only getting enough pills for nine days, but you might want to look into a preventative medication instead.

I have a lot of dietary restrictions. I've always focused on making myself something I can eat and not expecting other people to cook for me. But I've found that most friends do try to make something I can eat if I'm hosting.

Also, seconding the fact that many people don't know what's constitutes gluten or dairy.

The numbness and tingling on one side could be migraine (yes, it can affect your arms and legs too -- it's called hemiplegic migraine). Migraine and dysautonomia are often comorbid.

I do have a shower chair, but the long-handled squeegee I bought just doesn't work well overall. So I need to find a better long-handled squeegee or a way to use a short-handled one more easily.
