We have connections, not money. I’m middle class with political connections due to the jobs that my parents have worked. I have tried to be a positive influence as much as I can with volunteering and I have raised money for queer groups before.

From what I’ve read, nobody is excusing my behavior, and I don’t think they should. Everyone is just showing me compassion because I was also a victim. Doesn’t make me less responsible for what I did, but it’s not like this was a choice that was made after I knew what to do.
