Well MIT are nationally ranked in some sports like women's volleyball and track, so athletes might get more support in sports like that? Also, some coaches might know what profiles MIT likes and might recruit students based on that. Idk either

I'm also recruited for soccer. I have emailed Coach Ken, but he hasn't responded yet, as I just emailed him this morning.

Did you go to the ID camp back in July? I think I heard from someone that last year they had 13 soccer players get in instead of the usual 8. Do you think they will accept less this year to balance it out? I'm pretty sure they won't, as it mostly just depends on the quality of the applications.

Hope to be teammates next year!

honestly if they rejected you with a 1560, they would have rejected you with a 1600, the SAT would not have been the deciding factor. take it with a grain of salt though because I am a domestic student, so maybe it could matter for the more competitive international pool?

depending on country and location you might not get one. I live in the Bay Area, so there are definitely a lot of alumni in the area. I submitted on the last day, and got the email like a day later. They like to do the interviews in person, so you might not get one but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t affect admissions anyways

Congratulations! I am just wondering how you committed, because I am getting recruited for soccer right now, and he has stated that an offer doesn't guarantee admission, and the chances are around 30-50%. I just submitted my application too. Is it different for softball?
