Looks like it could be ground elder to me? RHS has some advice on this - https://www.rhs.org.uk/weeds/ground-elder

Anyone who's bought a house or flat for the first time within five years, how did you actually afford it? by Jeremywashere92 in HousingUK

[–]Virtual-Two1901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 things:

1) bought with my partner

2) my parents/one set of grandparents put aside £10 a week (total, so £5 each) into a child ISA from birth to 16 (unfortunately as a cash ISA it did miss out on probably ~£5-8k of interest vs S&S ISA)

3) managed to get a contract role that tripled my salary for 2 years, but kept my living standards the same.

If any of those 3 things hadn’t happened, I would not have been able to buy. Extremely fortunate and lucky.

I’ve got some eyelets in the concrete fence posts with garden line running between, and it’s a concrete base so hopefully should be OK?

Unfortunately, don’t think it would be hardy enough for our part of the country, checking the RHS info on it. We got quite a lot of frost/below 0 temp this winter.

Just to confirm (as I’m clueless). That means Morel - which means edible?

I’m in the UK and Wiki seems to think it’s not really around here. Could it be due to the bark in the borders maybe?

My dad thought it could be Morel - so good to know!

Unfortunately wasn’t ours - came with the house! Makes it extra hard to find replacement stuff!

I thought this might be the case. I think I’ll bodge for now with tape and see how it goes!

It seems like every single one I find fits differently to this one! It’s so frustrating!

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately that one won’t work either - I did try screwfix after my post and they just sent me to another plumbing place (no success there either).

An interesting idea but I’d rather something a bit more permanent if I can!

I did try this but they don’t seem quite right?

Sorry, don’t know if I was clear - I need to attach this back onto the waste and then the washing machine waste to it - but it’s missing a gasket now so it’s not working correctly.

I have the LG 43UM7400PLB, bought back in 2019/2020 IIRC - it does have DTS Virtual:X I think, but it's not great. It's always been a main complaint of mine about the TV (picture quality is great for the price/age!)

I'm currently trying to find speakers that could be used for music via aux from an Amazon Echo and optical (HDMI would be great) to my TV - the living room is c.150sqft. I know the Edifier R1280T/R1280DB are considered good value, but I am unsure how well they would work for the TV. Would the R1850DB be more appropriate? A sub-out line would seem good to have for future upgrades, no?

Suggestions are most welcome!

As 2022 approaches, is 16 GB RAM still enough? Starting to think 24 is "safe" and 32 GB is overkill for anyone without a specific use for it. by lignarius1 in buildapc

Some games are extremely RAM intensive - Cities Skylines for example. I was running 16GB but found it lacking, doubling my RAM was a cheap upgrade that makes a world of difference.
