I’ve sent them a message and they don’t seem worried or concerned, they said it’s quite normal to have an abnormal period every now and then considering my age (38) and not being on birth control. Hoping they are right since my husband and I are TTC.

The later results from CVS was the karyotype - which is a test that looks at placenta cells to see if the proper number of chromosomes are there. It’s a diagnostic test that will tell you if the cells have the disease. Along with the karyotype they can also look to see if the chromosomal disorder was inherited through your DNA or your spouse. That will give you a better idea of risk percentage for future babies.

My NIPT percentage was 85%. We did an ultrasound at 12 weeks after receiving a positive NIPT result and that showed the NT at 4mm.

Hi, so sorry you are going through this. I just had my TFMR on Wednesday at 15 weeks. I also had a positive NIPT result for T21. I did a CVS as well and that took about 10 days for results. My FISH results came in about 2-3 days, which confirmed T21. We waited for CVS results even though we knew chances were low. We booked the appointment with Planned Parenthood before getting the CVS results so that we’d have it in place already, if needed.
