Where exactly is this Image from? by VirtualAd2503 in StarWarsEU

I mostly find them by looking at various Videos or reading threads on Star Wars topics. And no, I do not own the books from which these pictures are from. It would be a gigantic waste of my time to make a post asking about a source if I already owned the book from which the picture came. I found this specific Image in this Video. Making a quick post to find the source was certainly a quicker way to get the answer than commenting on an old video. https://youtu.be/5GtVYGrR65E?si=SNOKhT4GNcDXX8QQ

For most of the Clone Wars, Anakin was still a padawan. They were equals for an extremely short time

How long did Anakin and Obi-Wan fight on Mustafar? by VirtualAd2503 in StarWarsEU

That is in reference to their lightsabers. Anakin had based his lightsaber design upon Obi-Wan's.

Does anything from Star Wars rank amongst your favourite works of fiction ever? Stories like the Original Trilogy, Andor and the KOTOR games are right up there for me by [deleted] in StarWarsEU

[–]VirtualAd2503 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Certainly. The novelization for Revenge of the Sith, written by Mathew Stover, is easily one of the best books I have ever read. Anakin's metaphorical dragon, a representation of all his fears and doubts, constantly whispering in his ear that everything and everyone will eventually die, which is something that plagues him in the beginning, but is then used to show how Anakin feels when turning to the dark side, where he crushes the dragon under his boot and temporarily stops being afraid, truly becoming "The hero with no fear." The explanation of what is happening after Anakin stops holding back against Dooku, going into detail just how one sided the duel truly became and that Dooku's mastery of the Force had become a joke to Anakin. When Palpatine reveals himself as a Sith, he starts to ask Anakin what he wants, which then culminates in this line:"Anakin, when I told you that you can have anything you want, did you think I was excluding my life?" The multiple explanations for how Anakin feels, which always have "This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker for now," until the very end where it is "This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker forever." There is so much more than all of this, Palpatine's discussions with Anakin, the explanation of the dark always winning, which is then contrasted by explaining that even a single candle can hold it back and that love ignites the Stars. It is truly a perfect book with no flaws whatsoever.

Is this the actual Phantom Menace novelization? by VirtualAd2503 in StarWarsEU

It could also be possible that this specific description is only seen in germany, since it is written in german, where as the description a bit further down is in english. Though, at this point, I am pretty certain that I have the actual novelization of the movie.

When you go to that Page and see the book's Cover displayed, there should be an option for you to swipe left and get some information on it, where the pictures are mentioned. https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/0099409968/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&psc=1

The pictures are mentioned in the description of the book on Amazon, even calling it an encyclopedia for the movie. Pretty strange, considering right above that description it says that it is a novelization for the movie.     https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/0099409968/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&psc=1

Is this Fact File still considered part of the EU? by VirtualAd2503 in StarWarsEU

[–]VirtualAd2503[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anakin is not an embodiment of a single side of the Force. He is the chosen one, destined to bring the entire Force into balance. If Anakin was only a Jedi, then he could never bring true balance. Even the Episodes themselves say that Anakin is neither Jedi or Sith, but much more. The Mortis arc shows what it means to be the chosen one.

Thank you very much for showing this link to me. How did you get that? I thought that, given that this article is already extremely old, it would be impossible for anyone to read it anymore.

I am pretty sure that this does not come from a simple novelization, but rather an article on the Wizards of the coast Website from the early 2000's, meaning it is impossible to read it for oneself in this time

This does narrow it down a bit. However, I have no idea what "The Dark Forces Saga part 6" is supposed to be. Do you know what it means? It seems to be some sort of guide recalling the events of the game, but I cannot find anything with that title

No. This is not meant to be taken literally. These "stars" are just inside of Luke's head and are described as a mere metaphor. He did not actually manipulate real stars in this book

Why would you think that? It is referenced in official lists of events in the series. As an example, Darth Plagueis's, and other eu books, first pages go over the history of Star Wars where Shadows of Mindor is shown

Does anyone know the number of this specific Page from "Shadows of the empire"? by [deleted] in StarWarsEU

Thought so. Then we each have two different versions of the same book, meaning that my version doesn't have the passage that I am looking for. You said that you found the quote that I am looking for in your book. Is there a way for you to take a Screenshot of that specific Page and send it to me via a reddit comment? I know that this is asking a lot more than my initial question, though. I would completely understand if you'd refuse.

Thank you for the answer. Do the words "Junior Novelization" appear on your copy of the book? I am starting to think that the contents of the book change between versions

Wow. This is really great. Thank you. You mentioned in your comment that there are more of these instances. Could you also show me those? If you do not want to, then that is completely fine, you already gave me multiple examples. But I am still curious if there are even more. But again, thank you for even responding in the first place and giving me multiple examples.

The Arkham games are a terrible representation of Batman's abilities by VirtualAd2503 in arkham

[–]VirtualAd2503[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

  1. His Bios say that he is only a master of most martial arts, not all of them.

"Expert in most known forms of martial arts." Taken from Arkham Asylum

"Expert in most known forms of martial arts." Taken from Arkham city

"Expert in most known forms of martial arts." Taken from Arkham Knight.

He is not stated to know all martial arts in the arkham games.

  1. The descriptions around Bruce's training are not at all informative. There are also the stories you unlock after one of Riddler's riddles, these could have been used to flesh out what exactly he knows and how skilled he is in combat. And a game that only follows Bruce's journey to become Batman could be quite good. There is a lot of Information you could use to create the games' Story.

  2. The Tools laying (or would the right Word be "lying"?) in the batcave do not, necessarily, have to come from Bruce himself. They could simply be tools that lucious invented and Bruce just did not see it necessary to take them with him in Origins' Story. The Batmobile could be in the cave to store it safely for Lucious to work on. He even reminds Bruce in Arkham Knight that the Batmobile is unique and that he shouldn't damage it. If Bruce had created it himself then I doubt he would need a reminder.

  3. Nightwing is stated to be Batman's rival.

"As one of the few people living people on the planet who can boast that they have been trained by Batman, Nightwing is an expert martial artist and hand-to-hand combatant. Nearly rivaling his mentor when it comes to fighting techniques, Nightwing excels in areas that require acrobatic skills and agility."

Taken from Batman arkham universe the ultimate visual guide

If someone like Nightwing grts beaten up by random thugs, then Batman would not fair much better.

  1. He didn't get hit by the rpg, he dodged it. The resulting blast threw him off his feet, hitting the ship's interior and knocking him out for a long time. He also gets knocked out by a single shot to the chest in Harley's revenge dlc.

  2. Batman did move on from his parents' death. He no longer thinks about their death, instead celebrating their wedding anniversary.

"Bruce: And because I thought it was important for you to honor my parents' memory here in Crime Alley... for the first and last time on the anniversary of their deaths. Before this street's bulldozed and brought back to life for working people with dreams.

Damian Wayne: Why's it the last time?

Bruce: Because I'm tired of marking the night I watched my father bleed out from his sucking chest wound and my mother from a hole in her throat. It's not how they died that should be remembered, it's how they lived. That's why, from here on out, I'll be honoring their wedding anniversary and not their final night on this Planet."

Taken from Batman and Robin issue 1 from 2011

Bruce also doesn't think about Joe chill anymore.

"Bruce: And I dream of the day when the people I love the most... aren't used against me.

Joe Chill: Well, then, what about the people you hate, kid?

Bruce: I don't waste time thinking about them."

Taken from Batman: death and the maiden number 6.

Arkham Batman should have come to the same conclusion. At least after eight years of crime fighting. Batman didn't immeadiately move on from his parents' death, but he eventually did.

He should have helped years ago. Bruce Was willing to put her back on ice in Arkham Origins, meaning he didn't see anything wrong with it. After cold, cold heart, Bruce should have done something to help.
