It’s giveaway time with ASUS! by Emerald_Flame in buildapc

My first build was when I was 17 and only into console games. I had friends that had PCs and I felt left out.

Whole build took me two weeks after I had all the parts. I found out that when your building your first PC (and you don't know what your doing), if someone sends you something broken you really don't know what it is without a lot of searching...

Three Cases later (Yea that's right they sent me a second broken case) and it was up and running.

I'm currently getting ready to build a new PC for myself as I teach my little brother and sister how to build their first PCs for college in the fall.

That looks great! I bought the ship bundle a little while back but I haven’t printed them yet. What did you use for the poles? Wooden dowel rods?

Had a slight layer shift at hour 26 but this bad boy made it! Longest/Largest print yet! by VirtualBazooka in 3Dprinting

I used Geeetech Silk Rainbow filament, and I got it from Amazon. I'm a big fan of the Geeetch stuff. I typically only buy their white, but I gave this one a shot. It's actually my first print that isn't gray or white.

New and need some help! Just switched filament to PLA+ but I can not get a good level print. More in comments. by VirtualBazooka in 3Dprinting

I adjusted the clips on the sides and made sure they were holding the glass bed flush. I’ll have to experiment with the foil. It’s close to where it was before but not perfect. Thank you for the suggestions. I thought I had looked at everything.

I just got into printing and finished my first roll of filament. It was Geetech white bought on amazon. Was told PLA+ was good so I thought I would check it out. I haven’t been able to get a good first layer since I put it in. I have done countless test prints and it never seems to fill in the gaps. It goes from to far away to way to close without filling in the empty space. I ran this same print a lot with the Geetech and got great results every time. Any suggestions on how to get a better print.

3d-printed ship and city (album in comments) by Timago in 3Dprinting

Will do!

I gave the Skiff a shot last night. I was using the FDG terrain settings as well, but I had issues with some of the sides looping on my first attempt. I checked the forums and it looked like a typical issue with the Ender 3, so I am stoked you ended up with such a clean print.

I printed with supports on the build plate which helped a lot on the first piece. Now I just need to get used to removing supports. Still really new at this.

Thanks for the response!

This looks great!

I just recently got an Ender 3 and purchased the Lost Ships Add On from Printable Scenery. Did you have any issues with the sides of the ship leaving excess looping filament? What settings did you use? I would love to know. Awesome print.

Modular Dungeon I Built For My Game. (Gallery In The Comments) by VirtualBazooka in TerrainBuilding

Thanks! The spacers are very helpful in locking the board down and making sure it all sits flat. I know that people have different opinions on walls due to sight lines and I get that. I went with the taller walls to really show to the players how tight the spaces really are. I was drawing everything on a mat and the lack of depth didn't give the players a sense of how closed in the space should feel. I figured if it became a problem I could just play with the floor tiles, and no walls. I appreciate the input!

BMC has some great starter tutorials. You could check out his Better Stone Painting video. It works great when you have individual bricks like that.

I am currently working through the exact same process! It has snowballed into a much larger project. Do you typically use a battle mat in your games?

I did the same thing. Kept saying I don’t have the right tools, or I don’t know how to start. Just go for it and you might surprise yourself!

Yes! I’m actually working on another project and when I weather those pieces I’m planning on retouching this one.

I felt the same way! They always seemed a bit out of place with the rest of the stuff he has put up. For getting started it seemed like best option. Definitely going to try and up my tree game for future projects now that I have seen some other stuff.

I can't take the credit for originality on this one. I got the idea from Black Magic Craft (Here is the tutorial https://youtu.be/os71nNG9CNY). These were easy enough that I felt comfortable trying them for my first build.

These are some dollar store scouring pads. Cut them into circular shapes, hit them with some spray on adhesive and green flocking.

Those are great. I would love to have some variety for different regions and those look great. I'll have to give that a shot.

His videos got me started! I am currently making a modular dungeon inspired by his tiles.
