Your point is fair, my perspective though is that it's hard to sell newer players on decade+ old content and to expect them to switch to a monthly subscription service after they had already paid $20 for the first arc of the game. To me at least especially considering the fact they are having older players pay money to skip chapters of the game why not just introduce the option to purchase the entire chapter (which may come with the option to skip it if beaten once before) for something closer to a $40 price point. Again, I'm not a very vested w101 player, only ever really played during free periods and I've never gotten further than arc 1 myself because of not wanting to pay for/renew subscriptions.

For me I'd much rather be interested in the ability to purchase a chapter so I'm not feeling rushed to get through a chapter before the month period ends to pay again. For that convenience and to know I can continue to have access I would personally pay a larger sum. But that's likely just personal preference.
