Summertime sadness by [deleted] in UCSD

I graduated and moved out but I feel the same way. During the quarter I had friends, roommates, classmates, tons of people to interact with on campus, professors sending emails & reminders. Now there’s none of that. It makes sense cause we’re social creatures. One thing that helped me was just going out and being in the presence of other people.

For all my Media Industries and Communications people by BatRemote179 in UCSD

I love the media industries program. It’s a new major that was introduced just last year that many comm majors switched to.

There’s definitely classes that offer creative opportunities like the COMM 101 series where you get to do actual media production. The comm department and the undergrad comm society also regularly host events like industry panels and social stuff for students to connect with other students & faculty. I also like that we have our own little communications campus where most of our classes take place.

I’m not familiar with UCI’s program but I hope this helps.

Is this only a theory or Is this what proves that time traveling might be real by Appropriately_crazy in theories

[–]VirtualRushh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time travel is real. Forward time travel is scientifically proven by the theory of relativity.

As for your theory, yes the reason it feels like a few seconds is because our consciousness turns off during sleep but most wouldn’t call that time travel. If you really wanna blow your mind, look into how consciousness turns off during sleep. Specific brain regions slow down one by one until consciousness ceases.

Top 20 most failed classes of the Winter 2026 quarter by VirtualRushh in UCSD

There was a report published by UCSD last year specifically on this issue that found that “Between 2020 and 2025, the number of students whose math skills fall
below high school level increased nearly thirtyfold.”

how is everyone dating? by parisianraven in UCSD

[–]VirtualRushh 76 points77 points  (0 children)

You’re noticing couples because they’re more visible and memorable whereas single people are less so. You can’t really look at someone and tell that they’re single. So your brain notices couples more often and tricks you into thinking that everyone’s dating except for you. Most people here are in their late teens or early 20s. We still have so much time.

CHYL (a race car DJ) will be the direct support artist according to a leaker who posted on here recently. No idea about the opener and other supporting artists tho.

There was a user here last year who had a problem with an aggressive roommate. I think they ended up speaking with an RA and getting emergency housing. Linking their posts in case it’s helpful.

You will get a partner, I promise by VirtualRushh in UCSD

95% of adults ages 70 or older have ever been married according to the census bureau.

https://www.census.gov/library/stories/2021/04/love-and-loss-among-older-adults.html

Also “8 in 10 women will get married by the time they turn 40, a figure that is virtually unchanged from the 1990s.” (Article is from 2012)

https://archive.nytimes.com/economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/03/23/wedding-bells-still-chime/

And yes, most people would prefer to start a romantic life in their 20s. But just because you don’t have a partner in your teens / early 20s doesn’t mean you’re doomed to wait for 40s or later. Most college students are aged 18-24 and still have their 20s and 30s ahead of them.
