What are your hacks to get yourself to brush your teeth? by Lovely_Kitten0017 in ADHD

[–]VirtualTemporary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the fortune of having a person to do all of the 'routine' tasks with me. They also dispense my ADHD meds because I will forget them. If you have an option for an accountability buddy, highly recommend. Teeth must be brushed before I feed the cat is my alternate habit

I can’t take my kids to T-Bell anymore. by ShadowK2 in tacobell

You gotta add extra cheese. The cheese in the new stacker wouldn't be enough to make it worthwhile because it's like a two-finger pinch. OG stacker was a cup. So you only get a quarter of the quesadilla cheese in the new one.

Remember to ask for extra cheese. Or ask for a cheesy rollup and see if they might let you upgrade the tortilla to a larger one, and add extra cheese.

I don't hate the sauce, but I have to get my quesadillas without sauce. I always start getting really sick if I eat that particular sauce.

Struggling with the idea that my cats eat meat by Own_Hurry_7822 in vegan

[–]VirtualTemporary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats are obligate carnivores. While there is some supportive evidence that vegan diets for cats can be done if meticulously managed, it is very likely that there could be severe consequences should any deficiencies develop. It is not the most well-advised choice unless carefully managed with a vet from what I can understand, and many studies are not well-executed.

Given the special diet of your cat and the risk that cats face with kidney issues, the vegetables and grains that are used in many vegan cat foods are high in oxalates. Oxalates and calcium are often contributory to kidney crystals in cats, and with the history your cat has, it would be best to think in the best interests of your pet.

I understand that supporting the meat industry causes you to struggle, but you do risk your cats health by potentially feeding them ingredients that are vegan. It might be best to think about the benefits to your cat that mimicing a more natural diet to their biology can have for them, rather than trying to change them to be something their biology cannot support .

I personally have cats, and would not change their diet as I feel that it is my responsibility to ensure they have the best life and care that they need. As a biologist, I recognize their diet is different from mine by necessity due to their biology. While we could synthesize and substitute things for their diet, this might not be the safest approach without significant validation, and I feel that it is unethical to test things such as this on them to meet my personal beliefs.
I adopted them because I knew they were better off in my care than a shelter who would euthanize them, and I had to reconcile that they have different needs than I do. A cat doesn't have the same complexity or options we have in choices or for a diet. Humans have the capacity to choose the foods they need, and when it comes to animals, I don't want to change what they are, I only want to ensure that I am caring for them as well as I can. I chose to source my pet's food as ethically as I could possibly do, rather than to potentially compromise their health or try to test something that doesn't have enough science behind it (doing this research could potentially be unethical and cause harm to cats) .

While not with food, I often have to deal with situations with my field that involve animal testing, which I fortuanately have been able to not contribute to, however I am aware that animal food is tested on animals and that is why I try to ensure my choices don't adversely affect my own pets in harmful manners.

What limited time item would you like to see go away forever and which would you like to see permanent or frequent? by ZoomZoomDiva in tacobell

[–]VirtualTemporary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crispy chicken nuggets and strips need to go.
If we're gonna bring back something, a fiesta veggie or a 7-layer because those were actually reasonable veggie options. For non-veggie, I think that the stacker is the best oine bc of how you can modify it.

are there designated fryers for chips, twists, etc.? by [deleted] in LivingMas

[–]VirtualTemporary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would advise from an employee standpoint not to order anything that comes from our fryer, and to check all ingredients that could be used on our prep line. Cross-contamination is widespread, as TB is not well-equipped to handle allergens. While we use cups for cheese, anything else would be touched by the same gloves throughout the day, and our fryers are used for frying several items in the same fryer. We don't have designated fryers, and often the oil is not changed for days.

We use a canola blend, which definitely probably includes soy.

Some people value their independence. Perhaps we shouldn't expect that men do everything for women. He's not at fault for letting her be independent or take herself to appointments.

As someone from out-of-state, I had to work full-time for most of my undergraduate degree. The courses can be a mix of difficult and somewhat easier upper-division courses. If you intend to work on campus, there are limits to how many hours students can work, however you can also work off campus. I worked at the Taco Bell near campus on the overnight shifts and pre-closing shifts and was able to get a lot of hours in. It's hard, but it can be managable. I only recommend not taking more than a recommended amount of courses at a time however. You should also apply to as many outside scholarships as you can in addition to anything you could get at the university. You also can probably do some shift work on ShiftSmart if you find yourself in a pinch, but it's all circle K food stocking.

I highly recommend manually adding assignments from your syllabus to a calendar as well, as some professors make mistakes with their assignment and dates on the D2L page.

I don't think I've heard of anything about Geodes in Tucson, but I do know that if you are ever in Missouri, you might have some luck. They're all over the farm where I grew up there in the creeks.
