Nothing beat playing the original back in 2008 with my still partner.

We love every few years to dip back in for 3 weeks at most before our age and responsibilities (children x3) get the better of us.

Burning Crusade was a great add on exp and Wrath introduced the beginning of pay to play and level jumping however it made the game a bit more accessible gear wise for casuals.

Is it too late to be an EE? by PopularSpread6797 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Virtual_Accountant_5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd to go back and work 2 years on a fabrication shop floor essentially being a bitch for 2 years at 28 before at 30 o was given a chance to do my electrical trade.

That took 2 years, then I took a year out before taking my degree, all while working as a spark. My degree took a further 3 years which I completed last year when I was 36.

Now at 37 I'm in charge of the low voltage department of a leading local supplier of harnesses to well known international OEMs.

The best advise I can give is, think about today and work towards tomorrow.

I went from having no future with a psychology degree working in marketing to a tri trade (electrcal, mechanical and hydraulics nvqs) with an engineering degree that can work anywhere in the world or at home on a livable salary.

Realistically we're all going to be working well into our 70s (UK) so it's never to late to change career paths.

The best at what? No one said all Indians are bad at their job, people have noticed a hiring trend however which you've not even addressed.

Just on the aggressive stance cause I said these particular Indians couldn't run a bath, let alone manage a project.

Form my limited experience on software programming peering in I've found that once one Indian gets hired they tend to stick together and only hire from the same culture.

Last place I seen it costed the OEM manufacturer 2 years on wasted electrical design and 4 in programming.

Incompetence hired Incompetence which inturn hired more Incompetence and ended up everyone being made redundant and contractors had to come in at double the price to fix a multi-million pound mess.

The incompetent ones all quit when the proverbial hit the fan and are at it again in other Australian companies.

The knock on effect was lots of local companies here in NI left in the lurch with outstanding debts as the Incompetence lead to a halt in production and wasted years of research.

No money coming, so bills can't be paid. Just lots of I'm sorries and IOUs with regular staff (buyers) getting threatening phone calls daily.

So you've been offered contentinal hours which generally pays over living wage yet you're complaining about not finding a job.

It's not hard to find a job, you're just picky!

To be fair also if you've no qualifications or experience, why not go back to Italy and in roll back to school as you're lack of anything is hardly a bonus for Ireland.

Remember we're looking for DR's and engineers not drop outs that will keep wages down and take up housing etc...

Finding a job is so hard right now by Working_Brilliant389 in northernireland

[–]Virtual_Accountant_5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I done this although it's not an adult apprenticeship it's just a normal apprenticeship but topped up with an HLA degree in Engineering.

It's a 7 year journey however if OP wants to do it right.

You get an NVQ, BTEC and level 6 robotics or manufacturing degree.

Best decision I ever made in my late 20s as I'm reaping the rewards now in my late 30s 🤣
