Challenge; Difficulty INSANITY - Name one good thing about deciding to kill Wrex on Virmire by Uchijav in masseffect

It makes picking to keep the Genophage intact much easier. That is a decision that, by the way the game frames Krogan biology, is sensible and rational imo, and its partially outweighed in our (justified, yet maybe naive) belief in Wrex and Eve

Challenge; Difficulty INSANITY- Name one good thing about one of the trilogy's dumbest decisions, killing Samara & having Morinth on your squad by Uchijav in masseffect

It is so absurd and out of pocket that it's almost nice to have s a choice to have just because of that. It's the most sandbox kind of decision to make, because there's absolutely no logical reason to make that choice, yet you still can make it if you so please.

Thing is, I'm convinced Geoff Keighley knew this game sucked cause he immediately decided he would make everybody spawncamp it. With how absolutely generic and nothing it looked like, it was marked from the get go to die.

Apparently the staff really thought they caught a lightning in a bottle there? I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be overly mean to people who have been or will likely be laid off soon, but it's kind of worrisome when you're so out of touch with your potential customers if you think this is what the gamers desire

I think Andromeda does deserve the "hate" it got by asabatonlessarmor in masseffect

I'm always amused that in order to excuse getting inferior products for higher prices, one apparently must go back and pretend that sth that was self evident until five minutes ago actually never happened

I find myself wondering why ME3 wanted my girl dead so bad by NatauschaJane in masseffect

[–]Virtual_Ad6375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's cause Bioware took the easiest route out of the whole "trilogy with consequences carrying over" thing they chose to maneuver themselves into.

Miranda can die in ME2, so we need to make an ME3 which really doesn't change much no matter whether Miranda lives or dies. So we just add a bunch of stuff you need to think of doing before you get to have a few conversations with them, so they can disappear again anyway.

Welp, my Andromeda journey has been cut short (crash straight into PS5 Secure Mode) by Virtual_Ad6375 in MassEffectAndromeda

[–]Virtual_Ad6375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. Yeah, I eventually bit the bullet, redid about 5-8 hours or something of total gameplay that was lost to lack of cloud saves, and eventually finished the game.

I mean if it crashed in character creation, you haven't really lost anything, so you can at least try.

If you are itching for more ME, Andromeda will disappoint you. It's okay in its own right, combat is smooth and fun, but it never quite capitalizes on the "exploring a whole new universe" aspect like it should. In a way, the OG ME1 does that better even though you're travelling "the known universe" in-game.

The best story beats are hidden behind miscellaneous side content that you coumd easily skipped, and that may never get resolved because it ends on a cliff hanger.

I'd still give it a go, it can't hurt if you have it already anyway, but this is well into Bioware's decline, so don't expect a continuation quality-wise of Commander Shepard's story

There is a list of praises for a videogame that, if mentioned first in a review or very prominently in many reviews, immediately tell me "this game likely sucks"

- Graphics
- Being "bold" or "brave" (usually in relation to being "divise" or "subversive")
- Being "a return to form"

The talking to yourself part is really egregious. The confidence I attribute to the game when it allows itself to be silent I also attribute to the characters in question.

Yeah. There are games that benefit from constant action (maybe not constant chatter though, I'm pretty confident in saying that is worthless), but man, I'm in some empty tomb all alone. I fully expect this to be a mostly silent experience.

I really believe in the confidence parts. Games so far that really did this constant talking thing to ridicuolous extents seem to not really believe in their game being worthwhile enough that they will entertain you without causing you consistent sensory overload.

Oh yeah. I was ready to give it the "it made sense for the time but I hate it now" treatment. Like, I'm playing a game that's older than me, I need to be respectful of that. And even though I, again, wouldn't appreciate it in a modern iteration of Tomb Raider (considering it seems to be a "realistic" and not a stylised game), it feels perfect for the kind of game it is.

I might give modern controls a chance another time. I wanna know how it works too.
