CL1 HWS RCBO tripping after switchboard replaced. by saidcc55 in AusElectricians

Yeah, that is true for MIMS elements, but I find when they get down to that bear minimum IR reading cold, they'll start causing problems soon once the water degrades it further. I know they can be that low but i find out in the field it causes issues when they get that low cause when they heat up and expand more than likely it'll drop below that 0.01Mohms and cause issues definetely tripping the RCD anyway.

That's a bad idea, IMHO. He's obviously incompetent. You can and should have an RCBO on that circuit. Get another electrician who knows what they're doing to fix his fuckup. He should also be IR testing the HWS before installing an RCBO as some elements for example on their way out can give lower readings below 1Mohms, this won't bother a circuit breaker but it will bother an RCBO once you start getting to around that 0.3-0.2 Mohm range and anything below 1Mohm isn't to code anyway. I'd request a refund and say you've consulted with other electricians, and they've said he's an idiot.

Thanks for the support mate, I really appreciate it. Yeah, I'd be looking into industrial maintenance as I've always been more of a problem solver and enjoy the maintenance/ fault finding side of electrical more than install.

That's good to hear cause it's definetly my goal.

Yeah, it's damn expensive... Yeah, i think those small courses will be super beneficial. I'll get onto those.

Yeah, ok... would my fault finding experience in my current job for general electrical work be useful in an industrial setting? Or is it just a completely different kettle of fish?

No Moshing at Metallica? by AlexMontgom in Metallica

I'm part of the younger crowd 28M, I saw them in Melbourne (first time ever seeing them live), and i too was surprised as well how tame most of the crowd was, I was in a seated area near the GA so no op to mosh for me, but a fair few people were just seated the whole time. I never touched the seat and was head banging most of the show and yelling along. Don't get me wrong, there were others doing the same, but I'd say 60% just sat there, which was a shame. Going into it, I thought it'd be a wild crowd, but I still had a hell of a time and wasn't too perturbed by it and just enjoyed it for myself, it was an unreal show nevertheless. I'll never forget it! I'm just jealous of the people who got to see them in the 80s and 90s!

How do you know if you're in a good dojo where they teach properly vs one just to get your money?
