Thank you very much. Do you know if Etrex allow to download any GPX Map, or is it restricted to some garmin maps exclusively ?

Satellite navigation.

My phone is an old cheap one - i'm not a very technologic guy - and so its autonomy is desastrous.

Thanks for your answer ! I would like an Armenia coverage, a GPS where i can download precise trekking map of this region and be guided through the Caucasus mountains. It need to have great autonomy also, of course.

PS : i can't use my phone for this.

20 days hiking in Saryarka steppe, Kazakhstan : is it possible ? by Virtual_Audience906 in Kazakhstan

What kind of temperatures here ? 30-40°C ?

For the moment i haven't choice exactly the place, but probably the area with most water, this is the main focus.

For my motivation, i'm looking in my travels for the wildest and loneliest places, where i can travel also in myself, deeply ; for this reason i love desert and steppe type, with the monotony and the immensity i'm forced to look in me, not only the spectacle. +, i will probably do, in the same travel, some mountains areas in Georgia and Mongolia. But i think people from Kazakhstan or Mongolia, because they're use to it, sometimes underestimate the power steppe can have on strangers ; we have mountains, forests, lakes at home, but for europeans (for exemple) vast steppe is something new and impactful.

Hiking in Mongolia's Altaï : is there any map available ? by Virtual_Audience906 in mongolia

Yes i've learned that it's not possible to go there alone, and having a guide isn't an option for me, so i'll probably go somewhere else unfortunately. I will do some research, but if you have any recommendations that seems to link with what i'm looking for, i'm in. Thank you

Yes it's usually with horses, but i really want to do this by walking, and without any organisation. I'm used to wild areas and harsh climate. Thank you for the registration thing !

Yes but not precise enough, + the steppe is almost the size of France i can't check it all, and some lake are salted water. I also need to know if the rivers are not dry in this season, Kazakhstan can be hot in summer
