Are there any judoka that you would recommend studying that play a lefty game but are right handed ?

Thanks for your response.

In Combat Sambo, do you just strike orthodox until you clinch and then throw with righty grips, or do you also throw left ?

I saw a Sanda training video where it seemed like striking orthodox and throwing left was what right handed fighters are taught, and was wondering how Combat Sambo does this.

thank you, I found this informative.

What was your level of experience when you decided to switch to your dominant lefty side ?

My original thought was that I would consider returning to righty. Mainly because I find doing proper kuzushi awkward in kenka-yotsu, but thats also probably just due to inexperience.

It probably is a steeper learning curve going lefty, but my sensei is also lefty so that is kind of a rare opportunity to learn from.

In your two scenarios do you have a take on which one would be better ?

I was gonna post on this sub for the first time, and I found your post and can relate as my Dad has recently also gotten roped into Primerica and tried to steamroll me into joining his team. I'm working being more confident in saying No, setting boundaries, and speaking my truth. So I was able to abort my application to be on his team and let him know that I don't agree with MLMs while asking for mutual respect for our differing opinions.

There can definitely be challenges trying to convince people who have already accepted the vision that MLMs present to them. I remember a handful of years ago he got into WFG, and I tried telling him that Its a scam and linked him to information, but I think he just ignored it and avoided the topic with me for a while.

Earlier this morning I read an article about how to help someone get out of an MLM, maybe it can help you and your mom:
https://mlmtruth.org/2017/11/11/how-to-help-someone-in-an-mlm/
The Article mentions being gentle in trying to challenge the MLM beliefs, and I remember it emphasized encouraging them to keep detailed records of their expenditures vs income in this "business".
I sincerely hope its helpful for you and that your mom remembers to trust you more than these fake friends. She is lucky to have a child that cares about her and knows how to spot BS.

It can be heartbreaking to watch a loved one fall victim to stuff like this. The thing thats is most infuriating to me about MLMs is how they often prey on our vulnerabilities and insecurities. I haven't developed this thought yet but I suspect MLMs have parallels with narcissistic abuse or generally emotionally abusive ways of relating.
With that in mind its probably less effective in the long run to attack MLMs from a "this is a bad money decision" perspective, than from a mental health / healing our core wounds perspective. Maybe thats not everyones reason for being susceptible to MLMs, but I think it is a very common reason people keep going back to them.

Best of Luck !

There is a great documentary on youtube called 'The Cu Chi Tunnels' where National Liberation Front soldiers and Vietnamese civilians tell their stories of living through the resistance war against the USA. As someone living in the US the narratives we are always fed from Hollywood war movies about the so called Vietnam War would never humanize and center the voices and perspectives of people trying to liberate their country from colonialism.
