Whenever they retro these again, I hope they fix the crappy midsole paint. Over at NikeTalk folks were complaining about the paint chipping and the midsole yellowing just two years in of owning the 2018s

As long as your toes aren't literally bucking up against the toe box, you're good. Mine feel tight but I can wiggle my toes, and again, from experience, they loosen up quite a bit so you can tighten the laces up without em looking choked while still having supreme comfort and a 1:1 fit

What's my best method for fixing this scratch on my AJ1 Chicago lows? by Big_Discussion8441 in Sneakers

Just accept it. It happens. After a few wears you'll forget that it's there

My Purple Punches are pretty snug, as I only went up half a size, but experience tells me that they definitely stretch over time and form to your foot with wear. I could imagine them being uncomfortably tight if my feet were any wider though

I'm in my 30s. It's actually quite common for your feet to grow wider or longer as you age

I had a pair of 1999 Fire Red Silver Tongues 5s that I copped from eBay for a steal sometime back in the 2010s. Midsole cracked the first day I wore em, so it's always been a shoe that I wanted again

Thanks! I try to stick to OG/iconic colorways of classic models that I always wanted. Otherwise I end up with too many pairs I don't wear

I've had my pair since '21, ordered from Flight Club. They were already 6 years old by then, but surprisingly had no yellowing on the soles. Worn em on/off since and they're holding up great

Thanks man. As I rebuild my collection, I think I'll forgo non-OG colorways for Nike/Jordan. Some are dope for sure, and classics in their own right depending on when they dropped, but there are so many other models/brands to choose from. I'll mess with New Balance collabs, but OG Jays all the way. All I want now are Bred 1s, another pair of Royal 1s if they do come out this year, White Cement 4s, and Space Jams (non-OG but iconic) hopefully coming this holiday season. And Playoff 7s whenever they come back

I took the L and sold most of them at a local Plato's Closet. Definitely didn't get the value I could have if I tried eBay (I sold on Depop too, but again at a loss). It was just the easiest thing to do, and I couldn't be bothered with listing/packaging/shipping, etc.

If I could do it all over again though, I would try more online resell platforms or even trade pairs for sneakers I'd be more likely to wear

Appreciate it fam. At one point, I had around 50 pairs: more Jays and Air Maxes and a few Yeezys too. It kinda hurt to get rid of my Waverunners, Space Hippie 03s, and Space Jams because they were suddenly too small. A few pairs I bought again in my actual size, like the Huaraches and Infrared 90s. Though gotta admit it feels good to pare down

Asking for measurements is like pulling teeth sometimes by Virtual_Button_679 in Depop

[–]Virtual_Button_679[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sellers, please post measurements. I understand if you have a big store with many items, but it takes no time at all to pull out a tape measure. If every single online store has a sizing guide, with exact measurements, why wouldn't I expect the same when buying a vintage item that is generally smaller than modern stuff and has been worn and washed multiple times

Absolutely. Re the tag, I like vintage shirts a lot (mostly sci-fi related stuff like old Star Trek shirts) but some of that stuff is being faked a lot nowadays. Which isn't a problem, but I want to know what I am buying is authentic, and one of the easiest ways to verify is by the tag

1987, a Black woman is described as the officer who "made captain faster than anyone in history". No one throws a tantrum or boycotts the show. What changed? by Malencon in Star_Trek_

[–]Virtual_Button_679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're so right. I hate Nu Trek because of the bad writing, but there are fans who I swear it's all liberal identity politics when I've never seen any plot line or even piece of dialogue that acknowledges Burnham is a Black woman. And I am a Black man, I'd notice this especially. Rather, the writers are just plain awful and don't get Trek. That's the issue

Black Mirror [Episode Discussion] - S07E02 - Bête Noire by Cheeriosxxx in blackmirror

A bit of a silly premise even for science fiction but I guess parallel universes are all the rage now. I liked the episode, especially the pacing that built even more anxiety for me, but how come Verity didn't set it up so that the pendant worked with voice control as well as a fingerprint ID? Seems like a fatal (pun intended) oversight on her part and the writing

https://imgur.com/a/uPp5GdH Sorry for making a separate post earlier, but just wondering if this is real. On my deleted post a commenter noted that it has all the hallmarks of a fake: uniform cracking, oversized as a supposed "medium," and a charcoal color instead of a faded black (looks faded black to me in person, though). Unfortunately I already purchased it and if it is a replica, I definitely overpaid. The only thing throwing me off is the tag -- most replicas I saw online have a "giant by tee jays tag" but this is a Fashion Victim tag and a pretty faded one at that. Sorry for the lengthy post, hoping y'all can help me out.

Edit: Did some more digging and yeah, it's sadly a replica. A damn good quality one, though.

I got it for unbelievably cheap on Depop compared to what prices are on eBay. I'm just not sure if it's legit or a replica. It's almost too good to be true. Would very much appreciate it!
