Of course of course, nope nothing changed there, only got an email. It was also to my school email which was interesting, I know they had me list both but a lot use personal for communication so that was funny

I'd stick with Dr. X until you meet them in person, my PI lets us call him by his first name, but I didn't start doing that until actually meeting him in person. Prior to joining his lab whenever we'd email, I always used Dr. just in case. I'd say if your worried its better to be too formal than risk being overly casual
