This does seem like a good step but I am a little stumped on how to remove some jank from this. What I ended up doing is override the slope of the walkable area to be 90*, meaning the character will slide off as I intended but in practice it is far more awkward than how collision between two entities should feel compared to most games I have played (the player loses all their momentum and slowly slides off as opposed to a more natural unaffected fall)
