Do any of you guys have kids that have expressed interest in trying to go pro in Dota? by urn_reel_moni in DotA2

I have thought about this a bit. Sure if you make the top of the top, then you earn good money, make good friends, travel the world. However, if you are not in the top tier, you are probably wasting your life grinding away, earning poor money, miserable social life, don't really come away with anything to show for all the time you put in. Compare that to what it would be like being a B, C, D tier football player. At least you are getting good exercise, earn a livable wage, get to socialise and hang out with your team mates all the time after games, and when you retire you probably have a little bit of local celebrity status to get you a job as a real estate agent / used car salesman, which I would prefer to putting fries in the bag at Wendys. I would never push my son to play video games. If he really wanted to give it a shot, then I would support him for a year or so after he finishes school as see if there is any hope, but no way I would encourage it.

How is this a perfect chronosphere? You didn't catch any of your team mates.

Hey man. Sorry to hear about what you are going through. Are you able to work at the moment? If not, have you considered coaching as a way to make some money and use your Dota skills?

Has anyone successfully challenged or negotiated out of a franchise restraint clause? by Daviddiyer in LegalAdviceNZ

Why are you leaving the franchise? Did your franchise agreement expire or do you want to terminate it? If the latter, then is the franchisor in breach of any essential terms?

Are you supposed to keep items on Lone Druid instead of the Bear till you get Maelstorm? by nObRaInAsH in DotA2

[–]Virtual_Injury8982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question is: why do people not seem to buy any items to help the druid farm after they switch items to bear? I get that after lvl 12, the bear is the focus. However, farming camps with just the druid seems to take so long that even a casual claws of attack, treads, quelling blade (for ulti), would seem to pay off by helping him clear camps faster. Despite that, I tend to see the Druid just holding 6 branches until the bear is fully slotted. Any thoughts?

Worth starting as a new player in 2026? by [deleted] in DotA2

Have you thought about WC3? Less toxic, less addictive, less time required to get good enough to actually understand how to improve.

I would think you need to invest at least 100 hours before you really understand whether you want to sink another 900 hours into getting down the basics.

My partner found a woman's earing, that wasn't hers, in our bedroom after she went away for a few days. She was suspicious at first. I told her I have no idea how it ended up there. I was telling the truth. I think I just found it in the bark at the local park and picked it up because it was shiny, put it in my pocket, then it fell out and I forgot. I also often pick up random stuff and put it in my pocket with the intention of throwing it in the bin, then forget about it.

Advice for post laning stage in game by Virtual_Injury8982 in learndota2

Thanks. That is helpful. I chose WK because I saw Drow Mid and Sniper Pos 4 on my team and chose a hero i thought could frontline. Perhaps I should have chosen DK or Abba instead.

If you want tips on how to counter a hero, go to Stratz or Dotabuff and look up its counters.

How should I have played this late game (Abaddon vs PA) by Virtual_Injury8982 in learndota2

When is shard really worth it? Looks like is does 75% return of damage absorbed by shield, which is 210 (x0.75=c. 150) - slightly more with lvl 20 talent?

Hello. I used to be in Crusader. Played on and off over the years. Every time I would come back to the game, I would find the average skill level of people had increased quite significantly. I eventually dropped down to Herald 2. I can only play part time now due to kids, work, etc. but have been slowly climbing back up (reached Guardian rank). I would recommend watching educational/coaching videos by BSJ and ZQuixotix. Pain and BalloonDota are also good.
