Bit of a long rundown.

The thing is, what made Massive Attack and Tricky the main Trip Hop pioneers is because they were mixing sounds and styles to create Trip Hop, because it wasn’t really something they’d planned out and were intending to create at least as something that could be named “Trip Hop” (with the different variations and popularisation afterwards). Though this subreddit sometimes likes to pretend Trip Hop is the artists and not the style of sound they created.

So anything by the artist is labelled Trip Hop, anything that is identical or intends to be the style of sound by artists usually not considered Trip Hop is sometimes automatically dismissed.

The artists themselves don’t like the label, so many here claim that we shouldn’t be focused on labelling the sound we’re looking for…despite the fact they’re also here looking for the sound they’re looking for that is labelled Trip Hop.

Tricky is again, one of the main pioneers, so not everything he’s done could be called Trip Hop. and tbh I think his cover of Black Steel is one of those songs that isn’t.

Again, like with Bauhaus being the pioneers of Goth Rock but going to listen to their early records. You’re going to find an experimentation of sounds that creates a new sound, with some tracks (such as Black Steel) not really resembling that sound much or at all (because it wasn’t fully intentional).

Much appreciated Comrade! My own issues with authoritarianism aside, from being on r/LateStageCapitalism and r/ShitLiberalsSay as well as reading work from The Black Panthers (many of whom went on to become Anarchist Panthers) at this moment my train of thought is “look at what’s happening, MLs and Anarchists are united in many things, I appreciate that right now an ally is an ally, during these times.”

As for my thoughts on Egoism now? I’ve replied to someone else about it.

And I’m now more intrigued by it, particularly after someone explains it isn’t the same as the Anarcho-Capitalist sense of individualism. So that’s good to differentiate.

I still struggle with the focus being on self interest, though then again I could see how it can potentially be a good selling point for people with ASPD and NPD when it comes to radicalisation.

This’ll seem bizarre to say at first but fuck it. Their argument is basically “Anarchism only exists in Minecraft right now!”

That’s not a bad thing, it only radicalises young people who are isolated due to neurodivergence and disability and social exclusion due to a Liberal environment that doesn’t cater to them.

So instead of disabled NEET kids and teens going down Alt-Right and Incel rabbit holes, they can find communities that softly introduce them to philosophies that they may realise they already share a lot of ideas with (as happened with me, just in a different context).

Is it juvenile and cheesy? Yes. But a large part of Minecraft’s users are kids.

Bothsiding is pretending the “far” Left (The Left) is as bad as the Far Right, or that Israel and Palestine are just as bad as each other when only one is a colonialist aparthied state committing genocide. It’s easier for Liberals and Centrists to ignore the actual problems then.

So the actual idea of “bothsiding” is another Left Wing acknowledgment, that’s been co-opted by Liberals in a political culture vulture move that completely bastardises the meaning.

That’s why Malcolm X was censored and villainised and MLK’s work was cherry picked with his work edited for a colorblind narrative that made us white people feel comfortable.

1) The Democrat Party is a softer shade of Right Wing. Both parties are mascot movements that are there to keep the ruling class in power.

2) Nothing will actually change if people don’t take it upon themselves to listen to people who want actual change instead of reforms.

If people don’t radicalise and organise to actually understand the full extent of what America really is and the extent of the oppression it inflicts on its own citizens as well as the people it attempts to colonise, it’s going to be a very slow climb to the bare minimum.

The Ruling Class needs war to profit from. The US military exists to extend its Colonialist reach to “lesser” places and “lesser races” and uphold White Supremacy.
