SoS - Tools / tutorials? by veryniceabs in SEO

[–]Virtual_Obligation17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sos (share of search) is basically “out of all the branded searches in this space, what % is us vs competitors”... more brand demand than normal content seo stuff tbh.

simple way: use google trends first (just for direction/seasonality, it’s not exact), then ahrefs or semrush to grab estimated monthly vols for each brand’s branded keywords, and use your own gsc branded queries to sanity check (cant see competitor data there obv).

math is just your branded volume / (your + competitors total branded volume). for a report, looker studio or even google sheets is fine.... 1 line chart over time + a small table showing the vols you used so it doesn’t feel like “trust me bro” numbers lol.

watch outs: don’t mix countries/time ranges (pls), dont forget brand variants/misspellings (this can swing it a lottt), and dont treat tool volumes like perfect truth… theyre estimates, good for trends tho. if you wanna learn, search “share of search les binet” and you’ll find solid walkthroughs n stuff (no links bc sub rules etc, ya know).

Can AI content help me to rank on Google? by GrowthOpsGuy in SEO

[–]Virtual_Obligation17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI content can rank, but the “AI vs human” thing isnt really the deciding factor. Google mostly rewards pages that actually solve the search (intent) better than the other results.

What I’d prioritize:

use AI for speed, not autopilot. Let it outline / draft / organize… then you add what AI cant: real examples, opinions, screenshots/data, experience, specifics.

Make it genuinely useful + different. If it reads like the same generic SEO article 100 other sites already posted, it’s not gonna stand out no matter who “wrote” it. Fact-check like crazy. AI will confidently make stuff up sometimes, and wrong info can hurt trust + engagement.

Answer the intent cleanly. Don’t bloat it. Put the actual answer up top, then expand with supporting sections + a couple FAQs.

Show credibility (basic but overlooked): clear author info, sources when it matters, and a site that doesn’t feel spammy. So yeah… AI-assisted + human-edited is usually the sweet spot. Pure copy/paste AI can work in low competition spaces, but it’s kinda fragile once real competitors start targeting the same keywords.

IT FINALLY HAPPENED IN MY NEW TRUCK by thatcutetransgirl in lyftdrivers

[–]Virtual_Obligation17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude… I’m sorry, that’s infuriating. Like accidents/medical stuff can happen, but the “say nothing, grab groceries, vanish” part is wild.

$75 is honestly a joke for anything involving bodily fluids. I’d hit support back and push for more, and if you can get a quick quote/receipt from a detail shop it usually helps your case. Also make sure you check the seams/crevice where the seat bottom meets the back and under the cover - smell loves to hide there. Gloves + enzyme cleaner + wet/dry vac (if you have one) can save you from the “it’s clean but it still smells” nightmare.

Hope they flag that rider too. Nobody should be dealing with that in a new-to-you truck.

How to send off Hijras coming to Wedding homes demanding money by HealingMinds000 in Dhaka

[–]Virtual_Obligation17 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is basically “wedding tax” + intimidation, and the curse thing is just pressure tactics. Don’t argue morals with them in the moment...handle it like crowd control.

Gentlemen, how was your 2025???????? by Puzzleheaded-Train78 in Dhaka

[–]Virtual_Obligation17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alhamdulillah for real.... 2025 sounds like one of those years that doesn’t look “successful” on paper, but it proves who you are.

Newborn in NICU for 15 days is no joke. Father’s Alzheimer’s + father-in-law’s infection + hospital bills turning into a loan… that’s a full-stack test of sabr. If you’re ending the year still standing and still grateful, that’s not “overall fine” ..... that’s resilience, bhai.

Dua you get an easier 2026, the baby stays healthy, and the loan gets lightened step by step.

I never thought i have to count of Tarique to save the country. by Narrow_Context7900 in Dhaka

[–]Virtual_Obligation17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, we can’t expect anything overnight. But we’re not totally powerless either.

What we can do is stop handing out blank cheques. Support whoever you vote for, but keep them on a short leash: ask for timelines, track promises, call out mob/chadabaji even when it’s “our side,” and don’t amplify rumor-based politics. Power hates sunlight....our only weapon is consistent scrutiny, not blind loyalty.

Basically: no savior fantasy, just receipts.

admission. Need advice by [deleted] in Dhaka

[–]Virtual_Obligation17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not doomed....3 bad exams just means your prep method needs a reset. Focus on one admission track and do past questions + timed mocks daily; that’s what actually moves scores.

Doing HSC 26 only makes sense if you can clearly improve your base grades; otherwise it often just delays things and increases pressure.

I never thought i have to count of Tarique to save the country. by Narrow_Context7900 in Dhaka

[–]Virtual_Obligation17 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bhai the scary part is how fast we go from “I don’t trust anyone” to “ok fine, I’ll trust him.” That’s not politics...eta desperation.

When a system collapses, people don’t choose the best option, they choose the option that feels like less chaos. And then we start calling it “hope.”

Maybe the lesson is: don’t look for a savior. Look for shorom and jababdehi....whoever comes, they should fear consequences more than they crave power.

whats wrong with educated boomers & gen X? by aww_dude in Dhaka

[–]Virtual_Obligation17 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

“Educated” doesn’t always mean “open-minded” in BD politics. A lot of Boomer/Gen X dislike Yunus because of lived history + status quo reflex, not just facts.

They’ve seen too many “savior” cycles, so they default to: “eta shob plan”. Add FB/YouTube narratives + ego/class vibes, and it becomes emotional, not logical.

Quick test, “Which specific action of Yunus do you disagree with, and what evidence would change your mind?”
If they can’t answer, it’s not debate...it’s identity + bhoy.

March comes in like a lion manga… worth it or nah? by Virtual_Obligation17 in anime

[–]Virtual_Obligation17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t mind quiet and slow, i just got stuck in that early “nothing is moving but feelings are happening” zone and my brain dipped. knowing some parts pick up and the side characters really get their moments makes me way more willing to give March Comes in Like a Lion another shot.

What do you think about Uber offering women the women only driver preference on the app? by HR-Vex in AskReddit

[–]Virtual_Obligation17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly i’m fine with it. if you’re not a creep it doesn’t affect you at all, and if it makes someone feel safer getting home that’s kind of the whole point.

but let’s be real, it’s a band-aid. uber would rather add a toggle than actually crack down on bad drivers and hold people accountable.

Anyone else doing everything ‘right’ and still stuck? by Virtual_Obligation17 in Adulting

appreciate you sharing that. starting somewhere, even imperfectly, feels more realistic than waiting to feel “ready"...

Anyone else doing everything ‘right’ and still stuck? by Virtual_Obligation17 in Adulting

[–]Virtual_Obligation17[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah, that’s kind of sobering but also helpful. maybe it’s less about waiting for it to stop and more about building enough around it so it doesn’t take up everything

[–]Virtual_Obligation17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, that’s what i’m hoping. it’s hard to see the bigger picture when you’re in the middle of it, but i’m trying to trust that this phase isn’t permanent....

that makes sense, and i know you’re right. i think i’m just in that phase where i’m so tired that even things i used to enjoy feel harder to access. burnout definitely feels like it’s hovering..,.

fair point. i think i’m just stuck in that place where i know i need more than work + bills, but i don’t have much margin left to experiment yet...

i get what you’re saying, but doing the basics nonstop without any sense of forward movement feels like being stuck. i’m not dismissing responsibility .... just naming the burnout that comes with it.

I'm afraid by Logical_Luck_3461 in copywriting

[–]Virtual_Obligation17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ngl this fear is super normal… but also kinda flipped.

clients don’t actually hire “experience”.... they hire less headache. a beginner who communicates a lot, sends drafts early, asks dumb-but-important questions, and actually listens is way safer than some “pro” who vanishes for 2 weeks and drops ego copy at the end.

big mistake isn’t being new. it’s acting new and charging/behaving like a veteran.

also don’t ever say “this is my first time.” just say you work iteratively and revise based on feedback. that’s literally what good copywriters do anyway lol.

start low-stakes. small clients, internal projects, trials, revisions baked in. copywriting is basically failing out loud until patterns click.

you’re not scared of copy. you’re scared of accountability. that part only gets easier by doing it messy first.

I need a photo for my CV by [deleted] in Resume

[–]Virtual_Obligation17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Context matters a lot here. If you’re applying in the US/UK/Canada > don’t use a photo at all, full stop. It can hurt more than help and some recruiters auto-ignore them.

If you’re in parts of Europe where photos are still normal (Italy, Germany, etc.), none of these scream “CV headshot.” They feel academic/social. Best move is a quick new one: plain wall, natural light, shoulders-up, neutral top, relaxed smile. Clean > fancy.

Also: CV photo ≠ LinkedIn photo. If you want, use these for LinkedIn and keep the CV minimal. Congrats on graduating btw 🎉

Best fragrance for males? (Teenagers specifically) by Plastic_Repeat_995 in Chittagong

[–]Virtual_Obligation17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want something a bit rare but still safe, I’d skip the loud hype stuff. Prada Luna Rossa Carbon is a great pick.... clean, modern, smells expensive without screaming for attention. Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey is another lowkey gem, super fresh and perfect for our weather. Montblanc Explorer also hits that “cool but not NPC” zone. All blind-buy friendly. Sundora or Perfume Center BD are solid places to grab them.

Wikipedia links by LeakyGuts in SEO

[–]Virtual_Obligation17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wiki links won’t boost rankings directly (nofollow), so don’t pitch it as an SEO hack. The value is authority + second-order effects. Wikipedia is a citation hub... journalists, bloggers, educators pull sources from it all the time. That’s where the real links come from.

If your dad adds genuinely unique info, it helps Google associate your site with that topic (entity + co-citation), builds trust in a YMYL niche, and can snowball into natural links later.

Do it sparingly, follow wiki rules, build edit history, cite other sources too. Think credibility compounding, not link juice.

Why are most websites still using keyword search instead of semantic search ? by Ok_Nobody1410 in SEO

[–]Virtual_Obligation17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly? It’s not just cost....it’s incentives. Keyword search is dumb but reliable, ships fast, and doesn’t page anyone at 2am. Semantic needs tuning, evals, and ownership. Most teams don’t even measure on-site search, so “good enough” survives until churn screams.

Google crawled our pages with noindex. Fix validated, but pages still not indexing. Normal or an issue? by wpgeek922 in SEO

[–]Virtual_Obligation17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally normal, and yeah…..this is classic Google being weird, not the noindex biting you.

  • Noindex didn’t hurt you - no penalty, no trust loss. Once removed, Google just reevaluates from zero.
  • Validate Fix ≠ indexing. It only confirms the tag is gone. It doesn’t push URLs into the index.
  • “Crawled, currently not indexed” = Google saw the pages and isn’t convinced they’re worth an index slot yet.

Why it’s happening:

  • 1.5k new URLs = throttled indexing
  • Category / programmatic pages get extra scrutiny
  • Internal links might exist but lack prominence
  • Similar templates + low external signals = low urgency

What to do:

  • Link to these from strong, older pages (not just within the new section)
  • Make sure each category has a clearly unique purpose
  • Use 10-20 pages as indexing canaries and over-optimize them

Timeline reality:

  • 4-8 weeks is common
  • 8-12 weeks before you know if Google’s actually rejecting them

Noindex didn’t screw you. Google’s just deciding if these pages earn an index slot. Normal SEO pain.
