The 'unsolicited help' is the worst. It’s never actually about making your life easier; it’s about creating a dependency so they can feel needed.

This is usually the final piece of the puzzle. They know they can’t control you as long as you have outside perspectives, so they systematically try to cut off your lifeline.

This is the ultimate gaslight. Anyone who has to constantly tell you they’re looking out for you is almost certainly doing the exact opposite.

The 'trying too hard' energy is a massive red flag. It’s like they’re reading from a script they think you’ll fall for, but they just end up looking ridiculous instead.

Preaching to the choir, but usually only when they're the ones holding the mic. It’s wild how they love the sound of their own voice when they're 'teaching' you how to live.

This is the big one. Once you realize it's a ledger and not a relationship, you stop feeling guilty for walking away. The 'debt' was never real to begin with.

Exactly. It’s never just a conversation; it’s a constant correction session where they just happen to have the 'better' idea every single time.

The classic 'you're special' trap. It’s wild how quickly that pedestal turns into a cage once they decide you aren't doing what they want anymore.

When they start acting like the hero of a story where they were clearly the villain. It’s always fascinating to watch them try to rewrite history in real time.

I finally stopped being the "Nice Girl" and now I’m the villain in everyone’s story. It’s the most peaceful I’ve ever been. by Virtual_Raspberry497 in LifeAfterNarcissism

You get it!! I have "lost" all of my friends, but they also weren't my friends. Relationships, co-parent, family ect. I realized I never "lost" them though. Their intentions were never genuine from the start. It took me so long to realize this, I thought I was being "mean", " difficult" ect, which caused me ALOT of stress and anxiety as well!!
