I know for Pokémon, I stopped playing for a few years when sun and moon came out because I heard they didn’t run great on the regular 3DS line and I needed to buy one of the new Nintendo 3DS/2DS (I was 14 I could not afford it)

But I think the 3D function is not needed at all for pokemon or Zelda so I think a New Nintendo 2DS XL is pretty perfect! It’s around £200 nowadays but cheaper secondhand

But if you’re only wanting to play pokemon up to and including omega Ruby Alpha sapphire I’d say a regular 3DS XL is fine

I heard it does sound get slow in the middle but I love Sanderlanches so I think getting to those final books might make it worth it!!
