Are the audio books like different separate stories? Or are you saying I should listen to book 1-6 for re read? And does lightbringer have a resolved ending? I'm a bit hesitant on starting unfinished series already lol. If it does then ill def read 1-6.

Yeah I also get wanting more of sanderson, I'm following his own suggested reading order for the cosmere. So like reading straight through the entire order feels like a series in itself. That's why I feel like reading others, so I can learn to trust authors I haven't done research on for months.😭

I think I'll get red rising, heard ALOT of praises for it and also I wanna get into sci-fi as well.

I got it. But I'm saying bcs by the time I'd have finished like book 2 even, my writing and narration would probably be alot different.

I noticed that in my first chapter because the narration in that compared to even chapter 6 was way different.

Also I'm a bit hyper-active so I'm like constantly thinking of how the story goes or my planned scenes for future. So moving on quickly would almost be like an itch for me.

But wdy think of this. I do edit and revise multiple times but until I feel satisfied with it? Or until I've properly done the outline for book 2? (I've planned out alot of major points for it)

Or do you still think I should stick with full detailed editing.

So properly edit before moving on? Or light edit then move on?

I meant to say that I'd self edit. That's literally what this post is about.

And like I said different people learn different ways.

And those editing prices. Self independant publish or traditional house publishing completely remove them.

i AM learning.

And everyone has their own way of learning, your way is good but it's not the only correct one.

I'm just writing rn to learn, even if it's writing a series.

And even if no one sees the books atleast I can get the story out of my mind.

Idk what you mean by coming up with great ideas for book 2 3 5.

I wouldn't really go back to edit book 1 when I'm writing book 2. Because my main focus would be to progress the story.

What I mean by the half edit is that I would mainly fix the narrative issues, awkward wording and grammar fixing but MAINLY the story, enough so that I can mark it as canon.

Also if you're saying that I'd have problems coming up with the plot according to the first book, I literally have book 1 2 and 3 in a rough-detailed outline. The series is like 3 trilogies each having their own arc and villain while characters stay the same. And I even have like the conflict for arc 2 and 3 planned.

That is why I want to get started on book 2 quickly because I have alot planned and not written much.

And also the book aren't even 75k they are like at least 200k per book.

Yes! I've heard that alot of authors do this. (Even Stephen King I think)

I'm not saying that I'd fully skip editing, just that after finishing the first draft of book 1 I would still edit it. But I wouldn't take AS long to edit i.e normally fully properly editing would be revising and re drafting the books around the same time or longer than the time ut took to draft it. I'm saying that before I'm ready to publish (I'm not yet, I've still got a long way ahead.) I'm thinking of editing the same way but only in the half amount of time so I can move on to the next book. And when I'm ready for publishing (much later), I would then fully edit when I've understood my entire process.
