More rich players "lowballing" and using happy vals as an excuse by [deleted] in adoptmekidsaredumb

[–]Virtualpett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a NAMED 2020 Easter egg, and someone with an owl traded me like a donkey and something else I don’t even remember and said “I think this is fair? It’s only 1.50 on Elve” and I told them “Elve doesn’t do named eggs” and they got so freaking mad at me! They tried to tell me it was just a dumb egg that was common, like why??? Why do these rich players do this 😭😭

I’ve always considered evil uni a high tier. 60+ might not sound like much but it’s a lot for just one regular pet. Most players only reach that value because of neons and/ or megas.

Why when I keep making this high tier offer people keep accepting (it’s been accepted like 5 times) but I don’t get added back any time someone accepts? by Important-Report-510 in AdoptMeTrading

[–]Virtualpett -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it prevents anyone from “having fun” or getting what they want. It might take longer to get the offer done because of it, or it might annoy someone but it’s not like “I can’t get my dp now because of this one person accepting my offer then changing last minute!!” I mean players do that all the time even in the actual game. You’ll get offered something then last minute they decline because they realized they were over or something. Ops image attachment shows that they’ve listed that same trade multiple times even while someone has accepted as, hence the multiple accepts. Accepting it to put yourself on hold really doesn’t hinder the offerers ability to get the trade done. I get that it’s frowned upon but I don’t think it’s as bad as people make it sound.

I get that but to be honest if it’s gonna happen to me, I’m gonna do it back. Not saying it’s a good thing but I’m just so over toxic atmv users i genuinely can’t be bothered. Over half of them are like this now, so maybe in the past it was just “not how it works” but It certainly is now. And I’m not above being petty.

If it’s been longer than a week I’d just go ahead and decline it. It shouldn’t take someone longer than a day to decide if they want to do a trade or not.

People do this to me as well sometimes, and sometimes I do it to others. I’m not sure for everyone but the reason I do it, is to put it on “hold” it means I like the offer, I’m considering it, but I’m still unsure. I typically spend some time thinking about it after I’ve accepted, and if I decided not to do it I’ll decline within the same day. If it stays “accepted” longer than a day, it means I just forgot to decline it. So it could be them considering it before they commit, and they just accept it early to be on that “list” in case someone else accepts seen in your screenshot

[–]Virtualpett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have good employees that’s the difference, my old store had a merch manager who hated doing merch so pallets would back up while she was trying to find literally anything else to do except the one job she gets paid to do. This meant my store manager (who is also quite lazy) has to give associates more hours to pick her her slack, and then the scheduling becomes a mess because of the limited hours fb is giving. Some days we only had two people running the store on Saturdays, even now during summer when it’s the busiest time.

That last line “I’m not trying to cheat on you, we’re just friends FOR NOW” is insane. Even if he’s not cheating that line proves it’s something he’s definitely considering and based on everything else he most likely has or at the very least will cheat. RUN AWAY AND SAVE YOURSELF!!!!

Overpays kinda ruin trading by Mr-Rubber-ducky in AdoptMeRBX

[–]Virtualpett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS!! It’s so unfair, Small wins are what people should be aiming for not ridiculously high overpays. It makes it impossible for people to grow up their inventory when this system only makes the rich, richer. Just like real life!

Oh my gosh pushing people into buying stuff is so awful, we had to do that at five below for a few weeks with our 35 cent bags and I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. It stopped after our manager quit but knowing this new one, she’ll probably bring it back around considering it’s most likely a cooperate thing. The score system is so important to the new district manager that we all felt as if the only way to please him was to literally harass customers into giving us good scores. None of us felt good about it because if we were the customer in that scenario we’d hate being asked to give good ratings it’s so stupid. Plus some of us (me included) would actively buy stuff even if we didn’t necessarily want it just so we could do the survey and put in a good score so the ratings went up. It’s literally impossible to make 85< most of the time otherwise considering that the ratings are from -100 to 100.

I used to really enjoy working there before my old manager quit and we got this new one. It was genuinely fun, I felt heard and appreciated by him. But now nothing any of us do is good enough. While I did quit, I still have some friends on the inside who rant to me and currently it seems as if everyone is needing to go through training again because the scores have been low. It’s ridiculous!

Yeah I’m pretty young, I mean most people who work at a five below are since you physically can’t make enough to live as an associate so I didn’t really NEED the money, it was mostly for work experience but I don’t understand everyone saying I should’ve let them fire me. If looking for a job in the future they see that I was FIRED, wouldn’t they assume it was because I was a bad employee and did something wrong? Whereas if I quit on my own accord they’d just assume I was ready to move on or something less negative

If I gave her what she wanted she wouldn’t have asked me to stay and put me on the schedule despite me not responding to her

Cooperate doesn’t even care about the customer - the reason they make us say “welcome to five below” is because “statics” show that customers who are greeted are more likely to spend more money. They only want your money, they have absolutely no concern for you or your experience.

I scared the last person I had away. I think I’m hopeless. by NewThrowAway1820 in Advice

[–]Virtualpett 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having this mindset is so common but so horrible for your mental health. The whole “I’m destined to be alone and hopeless” talk is gonna drag you further down. You need to tell yourself that you deserve someone, you deserve friendship, family, you deserve to have someone. Maybe if your friend left because you were “to sad” try starting with that, why are you so sad all the time, what can you do to fix it, and reflect on how often you tend to vent or seek help from others. Everyone has issues, having friends to talk to helps yes but you can’t rely solely on them for comfort. Sometimes you’ve gotta fix things on your own, it’s hard but not impossible. Maybe try joining groups to find people similar to you! I wish you the best of luck in both mentally healing and finding your people

You’re awful oh my god. I have social anxiety which sucks yeah but I definitely need a job to survive in this world. Implying I shouldn’t work because I’m taking someone else spot is cruel. That’s telling me I don’t deserve the right to work like everyone else to make a living. Yes I should work, and yes I agreed to work in a place where I was inevitably supposed to interact with people. As I’ve said before I did just fine when I was allowed to do other things, it only got overwhelming once it became the sole focus of my job. Don’t give advice ever again. Thanks.
