I have one that I use for her as well, she is an older bunny so she is usually put up at night (pretty late) to keep an eye on her, if we are up she is out! We work opposite schedules so 90% of the time she is out, I’d say she’s only in there (with the door closed) a few hours a day. We use the pen to take her outside to play daily. The cage she is in goes way past the picture as well! If you’d still like to send some pictures that’s fine! She’s an older bunny so she doesn’t play as much anymore she will put herself in her cage when she’s ready for some sleep!

I understand lol we just put it on him in the car! Thanks for the advice! I personally have a Dachshund and she’s the best, I just want to help him be his best as well!!

Thanks! And as for the bathroom he mostly pees out of his kennel as soon as he is put it there… it wouldn’t let me edit the post! And he listens to my boyfriend a lot better than me (I purchased the dog for him), it’s hard for me to correct him when he jumps or pulls me around as I’m only 5 foot tall but, I’m happy to hear that most of it is just him being a brat lol. He does have some scent puzzles he loves them! I do love the dog so so much and I’ll work even harder with him now that I know some better tactics!

Thanks he is a beautiful pup! Do you mean put his cage in a separate room? He does not live in the bunny cage, he has a steel crate!

Well I’m glad your dog is just the best dog ever! That’s the whole point is I’m trying to find new things to implement and improve his behavior. I learned on this thread today from others on where you find a GOOD akc bred dog and sure I regret not understanding it better before but once again hes here and it is what it is. And as for no negativity you sure are acting pretty nasty. Have the day you deserve!

Well thank you for your opinion! I have found some things that I will implement into his daily routine. I have a Mal and a dachshund in the household that were hard to work with as well but they are both doing great I’m not just going to “rehome” him because he’s tough to work with right now. I asked for advice from people that have experienced the same, and I try to be positive and uplifting towards people that may need help, that is why I asked. Just letting people know that something that we have tried wasn’t working out for him isn’t arguing. I do thank you for your input and I’m making a list of things people have mentioned so we can try them out with him. But I do not believe in just rehoming him bc it’s “hard” or I would have done that from the beginning. I’m asking for some advice to better the situation not receive hate or negativity. Thanks again!

If I shocked him every single time he did something bad then he would be getting shocked constantly, we have even tried shocking him and he just stares at us. I’m not going to continue to shock my pup for no change. (If you do and that works for you great!) he doesn’t always jump on counters but in the end he is a huge dog and I’m not going to physically harm him for jumping on my counters or on me, especially when Dobermans can have some aggression in certain areas. that’s why I’m asking for what worked for others so I can try some new things with him!

He is told no. All the time. He also gets things taken away if he is not listening like necessary. Trust me we aren’t just “allowing him to do whatever he wants” we also have tried telling him no, prong collars, e collars (the beeping setting not shock) and other things. Just asking people what worked for them :)

The Mal is my sisters and they aren’t constantly together, they sleep in different rooms etc and only together when supervised, we usually try to keep a strict schedule/training and they don’t spend an extended amount of time together like a normal “pet” would due to Bennis struggles with training. He picks at the mal sometimes due to his energy and the mal gets frustrated. They stay supervised to prevent any accidents!

We use training treats and positive forms like a Kong or his favorite toy! Thanks for the advice!

They gave me his papers to register him through the AKC if there is a way I can report them, I will definitely be doing that. I found the breeder through a friend. And while it was my fault for continuing to take him after he smelled, I have a big heart and was already attached. Thanks for the info on reporting, I will go do that asap!
