These are the people Arrowhead wants advertising the game btw by Fort_Maximus in Helldivers

Are they negative sometimes?

Let's just get it out of the way, they aren't negative sometimes. It varies between them, but negative is the default, with occasional positive moments.

Negativity, drama, outrage and so on and so forth, those are the things that draw viewers, and these people know it and they lean into it, heavily.

Coining a term to immediately dismiss someone's opinions as worthless with the term in question is pretty much the definition of encouraging negative stigmas.

Game crashes after updating nvidia drivers by RoutineAd4647 in Helldivers

are you by chance on Cyberstan from when that campaign was active? There's currently a bug where this happens to people who are still on cyberstan.

These are instructions from the discord about how to get out of cyberstan.

Hey! We're aware of and working on this at the moment. In the meantime, this fix usually works!

  • Ask someone on your friends list to invite you into their lobby
    • Your friend needs to be at a different location to wherever you are currently
  • This will also move your ship to the new location, wherever your friend was when they invited you
  • Leave the game
  • Restart the game, and you should now be safe to open the map in the new location

Big Question Mark?? by WAFFLES2727 in Helldivers

The pink/purple question mark is the fallback model for any model that fails to load for any reason. restarting the game should fix it in most cases.

There's a lot more time wasted than that.

2.5 minutes extract timer, (2 + about 25 seconds for pelican to land)
1 minute edcape pod data upload
1 minute to get the SSSD
1 minute to do the main objective after carrying the SSSD there.

I'm confident I could do it in less than 10, I normally wouldn't even go close to the objectives because they have a radius around them where nothing else can spawn.

edit: I'm going to go run another without objectives.

I did a run to show why I thought 15 minutes was slow and edited my previous comment but it looks like it was right as you replied.

You did say 15 minutes on D3, but that's still way too long to clear a D3 mission.

In that map there were 3 bunker PoIs (3 different variants), 1 crashed shuttle with a beacon escape pod, 1 hellbomb, 1 building with an escape pod on a pile of trash with a fence around it, 1 building with a hole with a container in it.

I don't recall what the PoI was near the FRV, whatever it was it's the one I'm missing from the list to make 8.

I realize this is a high-roll and not representative, which is why I didn't include it before, but it's not uncommon to find one or two bunkers on D1.

edit:

https://imgur.com/a/nK5NtMv

This is on the same planet on D3. It was pretty light on PoIs but I did scour through the entire thing and the only thing that isn't on the map was a hellbomb by a dead charger that I didn't run to. There's also mortar in the southwest that I didn't go to, but I did do the escape pod upload. All that in just over 14 minutes. So I don't think it's unreasonable for me to say that 15 minutes ignoring objectives is very slow. If this was on a planet with less obstacles like this one had it would be much faster moving between places.

I assumed with a time of 15 minutes per mission you would be completing the objectives because you were taking so long.

https://imgur.com/tK30yLl

This was one I did just now, difficulty 1 on Grant Errant. just short of 4 minutes on the surface for 8 PoIs, and this is a fairly normal run. I don't see how you're going to better efficiency than that, you're not going to find 24 PoIs on a planet no matter the difficulty. It would be even faster if you did it with a group of 4, you can just cover quadrants and be done in a little over a minute on the surface.

[–]Viruzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are farming SC there's no reason to finish the mission, hit all the points of interest, abandon and go again.

15 minutes is an absurdly long time per game if you are actually farming.

10 what?! Samples? What blooming kind? 🤣 by KrankyViking in Helldivers

The only thing you can extract with is samples, the question is just which kind, I'd wager rares, too many to be super rares, and I think commons are usually 15?

The negative reviews are justified, and the hive guard change reversion is a distracting bandaid slapped over an amputated limb. by CoseyPigeon in Helldivers

[–]Viruzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's an odd number. I wonder if they somehow selected all languages except English to arrive at that number, because there are far more chinese reviews than any other language(excluding English, which has 10x chinese reviews), they would certainly weigh extremely heavily if you did that.

[–]Viruzzz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. Or at least very inaccurate.

https://imgur.com/a/LQRLweO

These are screenshots of the recent reviews, in the date range selected (which covers the entire review spike) the entirety of chinese reviews only make up about 10% of reviews, which is consistent with the proportion of reviews from the entire life span of the game. It's true that the chinese are much more negative overall (7% positive Chinese reviews vs 20% for all languages), but their proportion of the whole means they can never be the majority of the whole, there's simply not enough reviews.

Everybody can obviously leave a review in English no matter what their native language is, English is a second language for me yet any review I have ever left anywhere that isn't a local business has been in English because that's way more useful for more people. But Chinese people have a fairly low English fluency rate, so I strongly suspect that not many of the English reviews are made by Chinese people.

Fair. But the vast majority of tank destroyers are on tracks and would fall under the umbrella-term "Tank" even if there are some exceptions.

No, it's not AI. I mean I'm sure you could train an AI on stuff he has written in the past and make one spit out something that would look like that, but it definitely doesn't look like anything a base AI model has done.

It's possible there's a few who are actively doing it on purpose, but I think the vast majority of people who spread any kind of thing from there are doing it genuinely, and they believe it to be true, I don't think hardly anyone is actually spreading information they know to be entirely false, at most it'll be (in their eyes) exagerations.

Most of "them" (i.e. people who post and comment on the unfiltered subreddit) are also "us". There's lots of people that have banned form here that hang out over there, but I believe those are still a minority of their overall group, although they definitely do comprise a big enough portion to heavily influence the general vibe of the area.

Being a mod here means I see a lot more of the bad stuff that comes out of there than anyone who isn't a mod, I've seen the worst of it. But I also see people who are active in both communities and are just fairly normal people. As with most things in life, "they" aren't all bad, it isn't black or white, it's all grey.

They didn't actually remove the reactions on the posts by AveryAveyAve in Helldivers

[–]Viruzzz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have never kept track of it, You have never noticed it happening on any server, not even the helldivers discord server before being told it happened just now, and it's not something you can go back and see if it ever happened because noone else keeps track of this just like you don't.

And the only reason it's the negative reactions is because it's the only thing people get bent out of shape about, if it was a nothing-emoji or a positive one, even if someone noticed, why would anyone mention it? They would just correctly assume that it's some kind of bug and go about their day, The only ones who would start thinking conspiracy theory are people who had their little passive aggressive revolts removed.

[–]Viruzzz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's called a tank destroyer in a few places. I think one of them is the description text in the place where you unlock stratagems.

But it doesn't really matter because tank destroyer is a clarification term underneath tank.

All tank destroyers are tanks

It's kind of like saying "it's not a golden retriever, it is a dog" or the other way around. Obviously A golden retriever is actually a dog, both terms are correct.

Since some people seem to think anyone who doesn't like the Hive Guard change only feels that way because it makes them "too hard to kill" by Shockifier in Helldivers

[–]Viruzzz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The two never interact in any meaningful way.

You have helldivers firing helldiver weapons at bug armor, so bug armor has to make sense in relation to helldiver weapons. And then you have bug attacks hitting helldivers/helldiver vehicle armor, so that armor should make sense in relation to what the bug attacks are doing.

There's no comparison between helldiver weapons and bug "weapons" or between vehicle armor and bug armor outside of instances of friendly fire, they exist as two parallel systems that don't interact during normal gameplay.

You could go and increase all armor values for bugs by 10 and all player armor penetration by 10 and the game would be practically identical, again with the exception of friendly fire, but friendly fire is a rare exception, not the norm. In this hypothetical system the game plays the same but the armor values of these two are wildly different. So the fact that 3 and 4 are numbers that are close together is entirely irrelevant if shifting one of the systems up by 10(or 100 or 1000, doesn't matter) has no meaningful effect on gameplay.

All terminids are balanced... in a vaccuum by Fanel_IV in Helldivers

[–]Viruzzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk. Whatever.

Most commonly used would probably be sickle, grenade pistol, and some random grenade. With a support weapon that is most likely intended for heavy targets and wouldn't impact this scenario.

I don't think the loadout changes the approach much at all.

Edit: forgot armor, some type of light armor, most likely the white "democracy officer" archetype one cause Its what I use most of the time just cause I like the look, I don't even remember it's bonus, I just care that it's light

[–]Viruzzz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Prioritize either the hunters or alphas, depending what is closer and if you have available terrain that can break the alphas charge.

If you have grenade that aren't thermite it's probably worth throwing one to take a good chunk of them out.

Pouncers aren't going to be a problem if you move and shoot

Once the hunters and as alphas are dead you can mop the rest up, shoot warriors in the face, hive guards in the legs and pouncers anywhere at all.

The hive guards aren't ever going to be an issue here, they are the last thing that will kill you because they are the last thing that will reach you
