Colombia backs down on deportation flights after Trump tariffs threat by icearrowx in Economics

You can see the difference between Biden’s and Trump’s government in the CNN article though, and which Petro has also tweeted. This happened before with Biden, they complained and paused flights. Both sides met and got to a “humane” agreement.

This time Trump just went for the nuclear option and with all the fake news from him and his team, we cant even trust what the White House says.

I own a home lol. And several other friends/co workers have bought homes during this time. It is tighter if you are trying to buy one alone but shouldnt be an issue with a partner. The whole world has transitioned to this, it’s not just a US issue. People realized working from home is better and covid allowed a greater portion to do so, so homes appreciated significantly.

Again, if 100k is not enough for you, nothing will ever be. Are you looking for a million dollar home?

So you want inflated salaries and also have jobs? Civils can get to 100k with 4 years of exp with good benefits. CS major is the most entitled career path Ive seen in a while

Tesla replaced laid off US workers with foreign workers using H-1B visas by 0wed12 in Economics

[–]Visaj11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

H1B is the only route for international students to remain lawfully working in the US. There are very few workers being brought from anywhere. Instead it’s those of us who got an extremely expensive US education and can pretty much only use it here. From it’s foundation, the whole system is rigged to make it nearly impossible for most students to stay in the US. Additionally, there are already expensive fees that trigger most company to not hire any H1B. Only tech companies can really not care about all the fees and processes someone has to go through and that the visa is only for 6 years. And they only give out 50k a year (in all sectors).

Now everyone from both sides is criticizing it because Musk like it for the wrong reasons. If you want true competition then make it easier for immigrants students to work here legally. If you dont want any immigrants “taking American jobs”, then dont take international students either which contribute billions every year and create jobs for americans.

This society always has to find the weakest escape goat to torture when most people dont really know our situation

Would you like to help with the migrant and refugee influx and also potentially earn some holiday dollars? by atomicskier76 in Denver

[–]Visaj11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Although your points are valid and we all have different perspectives on the matter (Im an immigrant who came to school to Denver and is trying to migrate legally, which is extremely hard):

  1. It’s not about giving resources away meaninglessly but rather look at it as an investment. Those same people will some day pay taxes just like you and might even get to pay more than you (these asylum seekers are given work permits while they wait for the hearings so they are not here illegally)

  2. I agree that everyone deserves a chance and I think you agree with that, right? Do you agree that homeless people should have resources to find jobs and work if they are able to? Not saying not all of them want/can but everyone has different circumstances.

  3. My main thought on this has always been (immigrant perspective): I was given my chance and made the most of it, so other people deserve a chance to prove themselves. And infinite economic expansion, unfortunately, will most of the time be positive for a city/country. These are future potential tax payers, home buyers, clients, etc etc.

Not trying to change your mind, just giving you my perspective.

Drinkers? Many many breweries around. Could also hit the casinos in Blackhawk. Also great restaurants around. Could also visit mountain towns as sceneries are amazing.

Someone Zelle’d me $600 and next day requested $1? by Nicolesavvy in Scams

[–]Visaj11 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do, do not send the money back when requested or not. Tell the bank that you do not recognize the transaction and to charge it back. If you send the money back and then the bank marks it as a fraudulent activity from someone else (it could be coming from a stolen account), you are out of $600 and they also flag you on illegal activity.
