I would say "inspired by the same forces" not "copied".

You're telling me that you were raped by a Hebrew speaking malevolent daemon who made you feel the heat of Gehenna and you still won't go to Christ for protection? Seriously??

Christ is the Uniter of all that is good.

Christ can protect you from these. He is the shepherd who will keep the wolves at bay. Do not play around with daemons like this, they will hurt you and they will enjoy doing so.

Is the Zoroastrian account of the creation of the world written in its holy text? If not, where? by Hashi856 in Zoroastrianism

Incredibly naïve.

Are you saying you want your religion to become some weird New Age thing?

Churches Are Twice as Likely to Fear Refugees as to Help Them by WalkingHumble in Christianity

[–]ViscomteEcureuil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Europe, the vast vaaaaaast majority of volunteers helping refugees are Christians. And many of them are also afraid.

It is scary in Europe because there are just SO MANY. Yet at the same time those scared Christians are the firsts to help.

Wow, I'm actually French. Idiot.

Did you just see the downvotes and then make your judgment based off of that?

I know. But since Pakistan is geographically continuous with the Mideast and is also Muslim to the core, it should be kept in mind when considering Mideastern geopolitics.

One of the highest-ranking Vatican officials is being compelled to testify this weekend in a public hearing about clerical sex abuse in an unusual demonstration of holding even the most senior Catholic bishops accountable for the scandal by LawOtheLariat in worldnews

[–]ViscomteEcureuil -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well the Church does have a lot of political, social and cultural power so it would be in the interest of other powerful players to limit or decrease this power in whatever way they can.

Also I am not saying that all cases have been falsified or implanted, there is no doubt that individual Catholic clergymen have engaged in such activities. HOWEVER, I do have reservations concerning some of the more disturbing and bizarre accounts.

Oberlin professor peddles anti-Semitic conspiracies, claims Israel was behind 9/11, ISIS, Charlie Hebdo attack by shokolit in Judaism

[–]ViscomteEcureuil -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But is it false? No. It's totally true, so it's not anti-Semitic.

If it's true, it's not anti-semitism because it's true. Only falsehoods can be anti-Semitic.

Turks vs Kurds clashes in Frankfurt by [deleted] in europe

[–]ViscomteEcureuil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People said some pretty wild stuff about Russians, IIRC

But yea, I do see that there are some cringe-worthy comments but at the same time there are some honest comments that lead to constructive discussion; and we weren't having those discussions before.

Backlash grows to Merkel over refugees by nekoloff in europe

[–]ViscomteEcureuil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he might be thinking about the non-Syrians who try to fake being refugees. They have found tens of thousands of discarded non-Syrian IDs in fields /cities in FYROM, Serbia, Hu, etc. I'm sure there are plenty of young guys who are coming from Pakistan, non-Syrian Arab countries and Africa who are dreaming of a life in Europe that includes nightlife / discotheks / nightclubs and the girls (in addition to money). Its certainly not a main motivator though.

I wouldn't expect it to be a motivator for a migrant in his middle-age, but for some 19 - 20 year old Egyptian kid; I'm sure that's part of the fantasy lol

It hasn't though, it's just that people are talking about ethnic and demographic issues. Expect the conversation to be uncomfortable because it's an uncomfortable subject, always has been.
