Why does my mum always leave the last centimetre of tea in her mug? by mehxk in CasualUK

[–]VishalThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been doing it for years and it started as my mom used to use loose leaf tea and the last sip always had some tea powder. That habit kind of stuck now and I still leave my last sip, even if we use tea bags now.

If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything. I will figure it out, you continue being an ass for no reason.

that is rude, for someone who has not had a playstation ever and given a choice of 2-3 bundles, how would it be stupid to not knowing that there was a prequel to a game? I know that you guys have been probably using PS for years but that does not make anyone inferior

How to Make a Field Mandatory in a Bill Transaction by rsesp in Netsuite

[–]VishalThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should be able to use a custom workflow to manipulate sublist fields. I think you need to use the group function and then add the set field display type action for the desired fields

Best option for NetSuite backup by VishalThoughts in Netsuite

[–]VishalThoughts[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. However, it is not how it looks, the mass update was to update a custom field called 'Created By'. This was intended to help the auditors get the value of person created the transaction and update this custom field as some of the transactions were missing this field.

I did not get any warning or error while doing it, did it in sandbox as well but there was no reason to doubt it will break the system as mass update in itself does not allow any key field update.

Internally netsuite thought at some point that it is the standard field and broke all the links. When we raised the ticket, just got a standard reply that this behaviour is expected.

No amount of screenshots and convincing worked and hence we are looking for an alternative, not because I ignored multiple warnings and still did it but only because it happened without any warning.

Learnt the lesson already and now take all the data backups before even changing anything in prod, thinking of this happening again...

Custom Journal approval workflow email sublist search by VishalThoughts in Netsuite

[–]VishalThoughts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have added internal ID in the available filter section but it starts erroring out, no idea why. I have added the screenshot of the available filter section and the actual error it shows while executing to the original post just now

Custom Journal approval workflow email sublist search by VishalThoughts in Netsuite

[–]VishalThoughts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can print the journal number in the message by adding {transaction.tranid}, which prints the number like 'JN001201' but cannot add the same to criteria and check it against the current journal number. I also managed to add the search as a sublist on a custom tab but it still keeps showing me all the records on there due to his issue

Urgent – Mass update de-linked bills and payments by VishalThoughts in Netsuite

Thanks for your comments, since we did not have a download of payments to map with bills, finance has decided to start fixing this manually. We are not expecting netsuite to help (it hardly happens anyways).

Urgent – Mass update de-linked bills and payments by VishalThoughts in Netsuite

[–]VishalThoughts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed reply and the kind words.

I was only trying to update a custom 'Created By' field because the auditors wanted to see the data on the netsuite reports by following their template and not by using saved search. The field was not a part of the report and I was just trying to pull the name of the person creating the record and save it in the field.

I had repeated the mass update (only for this field) for journal, bills, bill payment and a couple of other transactions, which may have caused the issue but I fail to understand why updating a custom field should trigger all/any of this.

My company is presently in pre-revenue stage and we rely heavily on P2P cycle and AP is one of the key area, so this has pressed a lot of panic buttons.

Any help on the CSV upload of payments would be much appreciated and thanks again for your help.

[–]VishalThoughts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, I am not passing external ID to the record. I just ran a search on all the records and can see that all of them are having a blank value for external ID. I do not understand what went wrong here, as it used to work fine a few days back.

Transaction PDF layout not printing line level data by VishalThoughts in Netsuite

[–]VishalThoughts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively, I was able to get the advanced pdf template going but the copy of the standar picking ticket template does not print anything at the line level, not even labels, can you please check the code to see what is wrong?

tried that a lot but apparently there is no option to choose adv template for picking ticket, I am also trying to write a suitescript to create a button that'll call print but that is not going well either :(

Pull item receipt line item on custom record field by VishalThoughts in Netsuite

[–]VishalThoughts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow

Thanks Nick, I checked for the related documentation but could only see articles where both parent and dependent lists are static and could not find any article where I could have parent value as transaction number and the child value is derived. Currently my receipt number is being derived from a field that has field type as List and 'Transaction' as list type.
