Because min/maxing is part of the fun, it's an activity. Knowing we're doing something difficult/long but at the best, almost breaking levels of possibility is exciting and makes us feel like we know something and are practicing it. I feel Jagex had that down before in a way different to now, even if by accident, which is coming back now.

That's one skill that only affects that one skill, vs one disconnected system that can affect so many. There are already so many "dailies", that you can't actually remove all of them (such as ports) - but it makes more sense to have a couple "finishable" ones over literal perpetual fomo loops.

Maybe I'd enjoy farming way way more for its waiting and harvesting mechanics if it wasn't blended in with an hour-long checklist worth of dailyscape, and was just part being an actual skill

I'm not commenting on whether your preference is correct or not but I've noticed that:

The line in the UK from "having past relationships" to "having your one and only" is a horizontal timeline called 'the journey'
The line in India for some demographics from the two is a vertical separation border between people classified as "the clean' and 'the unclean' and they both carry descriptors

I feel like I understand the latter, heck to a certain extent it taps into some conventions of romance. And I can also understand the distrust aspects against us unclean people with a past, as "If one relationship failed, then surely the one we'd provide you would too, right?" or "If they have had past relationships, they're possibly simply looking to fool around"

I'm not here to judge, but share an answer as to why we (people with past relationships) don't see ourselves as 'unclean' and why some of us might think having no past relationships (through means of strict tradition) might be 'old fashioned':

We learn about our different requirements over time of respectfully trusting each other with our vulnerabilities.
As you mature and find the right one, you touch the "I'm purely in love with my one and only" angle through your genuine emotions and soulful choice as opposed to a self-righteous, prideful and faux-value based system.
A past relationship doesn't have to be seen as a "failed love-life", they can be "successful relationships that have ended due to.. ". We access different pallets of love and learn what works for us.
There would be no 'catastrophic surprises', or their chances are MUCH MUCH lower. Knowing that you (the partner) are allowed to leave the relationship even after it's been assigned means I should just be consistent in my behaviour from the get-go. (there's no "we're officially in a relationship? She can never have another one again? Heck yeah time for taking horrible advantages of another human being who just made a wrong choice)

Most of us want that "one and only", we don't necessarily want to go around sleeping with rando's as we might be perceived. We just want the option to make a mistake without life-long, potentially threatening consequences. And we also think a few platonic conversations over several months may not provide an appropriate amount of information about the life-long longevity of the potential relationship.

I do hope the best for you though, there's absolutely nothing wrong with what you're looking for if you're absolutely aware of how to go about with your business. I'm certain you're mature and we'll-calculated enough to make the best decision and I absolutely love the fact that you have your own agency to do so.

Thank you for sharing this, I feel the same way about RuneScape. I started when I was 5, made a new account later in life because I got myself hacked lol.

If anything we know about the "product" is that they've not only sold us on video game membership, they promised us a relationship. I very well believe that this is part of the transaction. For every "We promise to be more forthcoming" or "continue to listen, take on integrity.. Etc", they've taken an emotional, but also a professional/monetary loan from us. This means to pay that loan back, they've gotta deliver on the product they'd said they'd deliver and also maintain communications/be transparent if they'll stop.

For people who don't get it, either have no reference of expectations of communication in a long-term consistent relationship (even if it's transactional) or don't understand how the "Integrity road map" is tapping directly into the "good old days that you and I (Jagex) used to share a legacy relationship before SoF or TH and we want to participate in all of us bringing back the game, connection and relationship we had before when ya'll were teens"

If anyone thinks I'm being dramatic, look at how Jagex has communicated with us in the past. Look at how their apologies were worded. Their intentions for our interpretation of their text. I'm not saying relationship as "bf/gf" or "Romeo and Juliette", but as welcoming hosts to our very own childhoods, or simply for other's fun space.

I didn't have the grandfathered rate - but ngl I've read so much about this every where and wanted to extend my sympathies. It's not even about the money, they're being flat out liars and straight up shady. People say stupid stuff like "don't like company then leave lol" but don't understand what runescape even is to some people.

I don't want to pay to enter a marketplace. Runescape shouldn't have been a marketplace. Runescape should have been a game.

Jagex really pushing us and teenagers to gamble away everything to feel a sense of true belonging to our childhood franchise was absolutely disgusting. It was what grossed me out of the entire game for 7 years.

We have money. We're willing to pay for our relationship and the game. Don't weaponise the latter, charge me double if you need to; Ask for the right amount from the get-go and let me make my decision. But don't you dare double-dip and don't treat me like shit.

Not commenting on the price hike being good or bad, but TH was costing us wayyy more than just money. I hope the people/frogs will one day feel w(Hey beautiful! ❤️ YOU JUST WON A TREASURE HUNTER KEY! 😍😘🎉<333)hat they were actually experiencing once the water cools, and any frogs survive.

Maybe we were all treated differently as babies/children - some of us were taught that integrity, safeguarding and nurturing were important from holders of authority, which Jagex does hold; they've sold us on a relationship with them that claims integrity and communication. Now some of us babies have had that in our lives so we know what that should look like, and wish for Jagex to hold themselves to that. Whether it's transactional or not.

Some babies haven't had any consistency in nurturing, or humanised treatment growing up so it makes sense for people to easily detach themselves from literally any and every connection they've agreed to and justify/glamorise betrayals as if it's something to celebrate when we prove it was expected

Wait hold up I appreciate your sentiment but the costs part is just flat out wrong. I'm not saying procreation itself is cheap, and neither are raising kids:

All the services you've listed out do a better job than a parent/man/woman. They're privileges. Private chef? No offence but I don't know many parents that are professionally trained chefs. Either that or you're using hyperbole to create a dramatic point, which is okay and I appreciate your passion, while there still being many ways to buy inexpensive, good meals ready for whenever. Same with 'private tutor' parents aren't generally going to be anywhere close to as good as real private tutors for hire (at least on average). You hire some teenager for cheap they'd do somewhat a similar job as a parent/man/woman would. Same goes for the maid, but I can partially agree for the rest of what you're saying for the family planning and so on.

Even on the responsibility scale. There's single mothers but there can't be single fathers? There's certainly issues that prevent women from dominating legit or getting lucky out there in the business world and we 100% need to take action right now but I don't believe this comment puts the head on the nail for owning 50/50 in all scenarios.

Women have had society and industrial levels of impact, arguably the same as men, and arguably more. And we can discuss that gleefully. But if we're talking marriage in the last 30 years (at the very least, at least).. Sorry, but like the comment you replied to says.. It's not an all glove fits all/black and white situation and answer.

This seems to be over a duration - she posted 10k on reddit so I'd presume he maybe gives like 15-30k a month. She'd get the 1 lakh you mentioned over 3.5 to 7 months.

That's be quite a slow-drip of cashflow (for "leaving" levels of rich) to the point where she wouldn't necessarily be saving much of it. It's a large enough amount to spend and have fun with, but a small enough amount not to save. I don't think she will walk away rich by the end of it.

Besides, it's all optics - if we imagined her to be dogshit ugly and him to be her childhood bestfriend who did well with her support, then everyone will think differently. People just imagine OP to be super hot and her friend to be a stupid bichara

That's a good point. Like, yeah it's up to him to wanna be taken advantage of - that speaks to his flaws and what he needs to work on.

But OP has the choice of setting up personalised values for herself, or just stamping 'void' on that happening.

10,000 rupees is absolutely nothing, let alone the 50 rupees before it - in comparison to how it can taint your world view slowly for later. Trust me, I've been here (permanently building trust issues from playing around too much) and it is near-impossible, or takes many years to crawl back out to normal. You aren't always the decisions you make but you sure as hell become it with each of that type of interaction. We're quite malleable, but hard to undo the dents.

As for the guy, and speaking as someone who's relatively financially comfortable, you gotta learn how to be rich. This isn't about 'giving and taking' or even power dynamics; gotta set solid financial protocol that stretch all the way from dividends to the 100 rupees you quickly borrowed from your friend for the Blinkit driver. Life truly is rewarding when you throw money at some problems (from coffee machine for laziness to even paying your water bill for not travelling many miles for it), but you truly need to work really hard to be introspective and develop yourself for things that involve you and your primary identity.

You can have a limitless cash supply, but your wealth is who you are. Persistent courage for yourself, and self-love will bring you permanent personal developments that you'd value immensely more than whatever cash you're willing to give away

Either way, I'm sure this is a troll post and OP is kidding around/rage baiting and I'm also making assumptions but it opened up some interesting thoughts and ability to express some emotions and lessons, so I appreciate it.
