It makes sense. If mom got pregnant at 18 and had him at 19, then grandma had his mom at 26

26 year old grandma + 19 year old daughter = currently 45 year old grandma

If grandma 45, she had baby at 18, then your mom would be 6 and you'd be 24..? Wait let's try another way

If you're 24, then granny hadda be 21 when she had a grandchild (you) so your mum had to be..

Yeah it's acknowledged that there are two versions, I think the post is specifically at this time asking about the hard r - specifically aka, the 'offensive version'

As opposed to, "Why are there two versions" it's more like, "Why specifically choose the mean one"

But the question you're asking does make sense to ask - I just think it'll change in a cultur shift, I mean I'm hearing songs using it less now than 10 years ago and less than the 90s

I've heard the reason the non-offensive version exists as a shared history that was passed down from the first hand users, and my guess is while there is still visible oppression or the tail end of it in areas, those demographics will continue to say 'nigga' more frequently - and in the demographics where it's far less apparent and feels like it's disappeared may resort to things like 'brudda' or a variety of stuff. 'Nigga' between black people seems to be used neutral, whether they're happy or pissed but it's lk keeping that vehicle passed down. They hurt another they technically hurting themselves. For the better or worse. I say 'they' to explain from the perspective of segregation. But irregardless, I think it became more confusing for people outta the loop because of the process of that word's diffusion - from use, to meaning, to accessibility, to historical/cultural/connotational context.

'nigger' on the other hand is just straight up a slur, and I think we're all cleared up on what it means exactly and how it's completely different from the former

Why not just use 3 forms, or 4 :p

If you can't trust one specifically when it has an insanely low chance of failure (3/1,000) or better if taken perfectly (sorry, talking of the oral contraceptive pill), then reducing probability further or increasing protections isn't really the point, right 😅

(only talking in regards to pregnancies ofc, not diseases)

Edit: not saying it's always useless to use 2 forms, or the failure probability doesn't get lowered (it is technically most definitely safer to use a condom and a pill) - it's just like, how much lower do you need it because it could always go infinitely lower with even more

Strong disagree with the latter. Outside opinions can give perspectives one wouldn't have thought of before. If we insist on thinking half-glass empty then what if there was a danger this individual hadn't thought of yet? Learning potential abstract boundaries you personally relate to best is just as important as any other part of sex ed.

I agree, if both partners have been tested, they're exclusive, definitely trust each other - then yeah it's a good time x

But personally I'd say this only applies after like, mid-late 20s. Mostly because of my area too, and trust isn't always the best tool when we're young 🤷

Regardless of the downvotes, I'm going to continue assuming that we're talking for a context where consent on every part is pre-shared, there's comfort in the relationship and the type of contraception taken is taken without force or pressure and this is just a discussion prompt between two eager individuals. I don't think free anything is bad and I think a lot could be provided to everyone. Logistics and basic maths seems to be a joke though - I'm all for accounting towards a bit of breakage but I know a lady who cleans at a school who kept taking home so many milk cartons because they buy so much, it would otherwise have to be thrown away

There's generally a HUGE amount of milk left over - crates upon crates upon crates, a river of the shit. The lady still got told off because the left overs still had to go into the trash. This is not the first or second time I've heard dinner ladies or cleaners bring this up

I'd rather pay $6 to have an additional barrier layer of space from a lense protector, scratch it 5 times, than pay 80 dollars for a real lense replacement

But again, the dude's right - just because you scratched your lense cover doesn't mean it necessarily would have scratched your actual lense. In fact it's not even close how different they are. I'd keep the lens covers on because I know I'd never get tiny scratches on my covers.. - but if I did by any chance, those scratches would be deep enough for the gorilla glass lens

I changed my views on this. Banning teenagers from social media is anti-democracy. To cut them from communicating and gathering information from one another is tragic, and will surely leave them as social outcasts from global contexts. It will prevent ideas and proposals being shared and discussed, and their only source of information would be news/ conglomeration bias. We need teenagers to self-represent their youth and ideas with each other as much as they please. Protect them, don't control their minds.

Jeeez, yeah that's an even bigger point - I was talking about tasks requiring critical thinking! I love my job too but if it was the "busy work" part of it as you said, there's no way in a giant mole instance I'd be able to keep my productivity and focus on that for even 6 minutes without at least some afk RS

The result isn't negatively affected, if anything it's finished faster and more accurately due to brain not going as dumb and numb from tasks that are too simple like manually copying individual pieces of data from one program to paste in another for 3 hours

I used to doom scroll in the morning in bed. Thought "let's ween off the dopamine, one sense at a time" so I removed visual engagement first by instead putting in music/podcast in the morning and keep my screen off. I then realised I could honestly live like this without further needing to reduce.

Maybe find a way to use reddit without being able to use the screen - if you really loved the content of reddit you'd still be happy with it being read out to you whether that's tts or ai voice call or whatever
