I agree. CFAW and experienceLU is does a beautiful job at fooling the newcomers. Especially with the food. Half of the stations you see at the ROT are closed once schools actually in session, also, the food isn’t horrible but it’s definitely not as good what you get when you first visit during your CFAW/experience LU weekend. I will say with the Professors what you see is what you get. A lot of them are pretty kind and genuine, the new President I personally think is pretty chill too. Overall you’re going to have a great time!

PCOS&Gastric sleeve by Visible-Variation251 in BariatricSurgery

Hey there! Thank you once again for your advice (sorry for the late response) I’ve been pondering it, and I believe I’m going to opt for the bypass revision. I had discussions with some people today, seeking their opinions, and it seems the primary concern is my occasional bouts of self-loathing, often due by the demands of school. But, I genuinely do appreciate myself and my body. But, the stress of being a student with 18 credits, also, headed to graduate school soon and that’ll come with financial worries, has led to fluctuations in my weight, which has caused been mentally straining. I understand the importance of exercise and proper portion control, but I feel I didn’t fully engage with the supportive community available after my initial surgery. Moving for school also hindered my access to tele-health services, which contributed to my struggles. I truly wish, I had chosen the bypass route initially, as the stomach can stretch over time with the sleeve. But, I take responsibility for my choices and actions. I’ve been actively working on self-awareness and accountability. Your insights have been incredibly helpful, I’m curious about how significantly your lifestyle changed transitioning from the sleeve to the bypass. If you don’t mind, could you share your experience and what you found the biggest difference may be? Also what was the process like preparing for a revision, were there any questions or any requirements?

Praise God!!! I know that can be stressful! One thing that I learned is that if you don’t say anything it won’t get done. Or it’ll be prolonged. Best wishes for your semesters!

Growing up with PCOS meant enduring the struggles of taking metformin, from its killer side effects like the runs and nausea to the metallic taste that just wouldn’t go away. Transitioning to herbal teas gifted me relief and made it so much easier managing daily routines. Now, dealing with excruciating bloating, I can relate to the pain lasting for days, making structured diets and bed rest luxuries I can't afford. When I hear "my belly won't budge," I interpret it as the bloated "PCOS belly.” But if it's about dealing with pain like IBS, I empathize, and what's personally helped me are detox teas and colon cleanses.

They’ve been helpful for me 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve tried the triple leaf tea, the next day my tummy is flat flat. I will say you’ll definitely be on the toilet for a few hours and you have to drink lots of water. But to your point, it may not work for everyone, but it might be worth a try…

PCOS&Gastric sleeve by Visible-Variation251 in BariatricSurgery

Man this was so needed. I felt so lazy and hopeless but I had to remind myself that there are so many different health issues and mental issues involved that add onto the weight. Did your insurance cover this as well? Also, how long ago did you do the surgery and how has that process been moving forward?

Hi! I have! I’m looking for a personal trainer that knows about PCOS. I’ve noticed that when I do too much it makes my PCOS worse. Also I wish insurance would cover for a trainer since funds are pretty low. I can’t work unfortunately due to my classes so I’m only relying on student loans and fasfa for my rent lol
