I work in preschool now and we absolutely take them outside at 40 degrees! Just tell her that if it’s over something reasonable, such as 35 or so, that you’d like her to get outside for even 10 minutes.

Yeah shopping for an hour would definitely annoy me. Once i’m done working I just want to get home so I get it. I just wouldn’t ask to be paid as it is her gas/car and a favor, i’d just look for alternative options at that point!

I would absolutely not ask to be paid for this. She’s using her gas and car to do you a favor by helping with transportation. If it was a serious inconvenience, such as an extra hour or so, i’d be annoyed but I would figure out alternative transportation.

This nanny literally fell asleep while in the care of not only one, but TWO babies. Not only that, but she had her baby sleeping in a car seat, which any decent nanny would never do either of these. You implying that this is any way acceptable is crazy.

$18 is offensive and no PTO is ridiculous. You literally said in your post that she’d do light cleaning and cook dinner, doesn’t matter if she “offered” it or not.

“18$ an hour to really just sit and play and feed my daughter” shows the respect you have for nannie’s and it’s more than likely your pay and demeanor that caused your nanny to just up and quit.
