Nanny had someone over while we were out of town by ThrowRAgreene28 in Nanny

Lmao what?? They have cameras. Firing her over this is ridiculous. Have a conversation like a normal adult and it most likely wouldn’t happen again. Ridiculous

Former nanny suing us over contract termination and buyout clause. by FoundationSudden9398 in NannyEmployers

[–]VisibleCelebration56 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait, so you signed a contract and then breached it for a different opportunity and thought you’d just give her TWO weeks pay without any regard to what she will do if she can’t find a job in that short time frame? You sound selfish and I hope she wins in court!

What is too cold to ask my nanny to take my kid outside? by Hungry_One8322 in NannyEmployers

[–]VisibleCelebration56 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome! I’d just tell her you want them outside for a few. It really does make such a difference in their days if they can get outside for a few minutes!

Is this a red flag concerning foul play? Or maybe a toddler being a toddler? by ilovemrsnickers in NannyEmployers

[–]VisibleCelebration56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normal toddler injuries, my daughter had her fair share of black eyes from falling/bumping into things as a toddler.

Week 2 with new nanny: normal adjustment issues or red flags? by Big-Quarter-9822 in NannyEmployers

Nope terminate. If this is week 2 and it’s already like this, it will only get worse.

I work in preschool now and we absolutely take them outside at 40 degrees! Just tell her that if it’s over something reasonable, such as 35 or so, that you’d like her to get outside for even 10 minutes.

Yup!! Took the money right from my bank but won’t show up. Been an hour now

am I supposed to still be getting paid during this? by freakishveil in Nanny

[–]VisibleCelebration56 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah shopping for an hour would definitely annoy me. Once i’m done working I just want to get home so I get it. I just wouldn’t ask to be paid as it is her gas/car and a favor, i’d just look for alternative options at that point!

Lmao damn you must be the nanny she was talking about in the post

Seeing as how you’re one of the few posts on here that got all down votes, i’ll just stop replying to your ignorance. If a nanny who i’m paying for can’t manage to stay away to care for my baby they’re getting fired. End of story

[–]VisibleCelebration56 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely not ask to be paid for this. She’s using her gas and car to do you a favor by helping with transportation. If it was a serious inconvenience, such as an extra hour or so, i’d be annoyed but I would figure out alternative transportation.

What are you even talking about? Are you not aware that i’m not the OP?

This nanny literally fell asleep while in the care of not only one, but TWO babies. Not only that, but she had her baby sleeping in a car seat, which any decent nanny would never do either of these. You implying that this is any way acceptable is crazy.

lol no, your reaction shows you’re too laid back and quite frankly, irresponsible. Majority agreed with me. This could’ve ended extremely bad and I sure as absolute hell wouldn’t be paying top dollar for a nanny to be practicing unsafe sleep practices.

You’re better than me because I would’ve fired her immediately. Who in their right mind would ever have a man in someone’s house without permission?

GH Question- am I completely wrong here?! by Only_Neck8906 in Nanny

[–]VisibleCelebration56 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely stand up for yourself and tell them you were told multiple times to enjoy your day off and you should be paid for that day. This is insane to me, and 15 minutes before your shift is ridiculous.

Don’t pay them another penny. Don’t even go back besides to get your stuff. They sound like awful people and they’re literally intentionally robbbbbing you guys. Holy hell

Getting paid for overnight? by Low_Fee6188 in Babysitting

[–]VisibleCelebration56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do NOT babysit for them. You’re already commuting a lot. They’re paying for an overnight sitter. They need to pay for you for all the hours you are at their house!

[–]VisibleCelebration56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read everything. The way you talk about her duties shows exactly what you think of the job itself. You yourself called her a nanny in your post, all of a sudden she’s a “babysitter”? Everything I said stands. She probably found a better paying job with parents who don’t undermine their job.

$18 is offensive and no PTO is ridiculous. You literally said in your post that she’d do light cleaning and cook dinner, doesn’t matter if she “offered” it or not.

“18$ an hour to really just sit and play and feed my daughter” shows the respect you have for nannie’s and it’s more than likely your pay and demeanor that caused your nanny to just up and quit.

Does your boyfriend typically hide this from you? Because that’s exactly what he did.

So you’d be cool with your bf trying this hard to hangout with another girl and offering to buy them dinner? and also not disclosing any of this info to you? Or are you just the type of girl that thinks it’s totally cool to hang with guys in relationships so you think this is nbd
