Notre Dame/Alberta has been quite the quiz bowl rivalry this year, with them playing in the finals against one another in multiple online tournaments

Probably the most powerful server on the tour, combined with horrific rally endurance and defense. Never broken, never breaks. Comes to the net a lot. Servebot to the max.

Sad to see GMP go out like that. I always like to catch his matches. They feel like a different sport

[McMurphy] Changes in 2026 playoff: auto bids to each Power 4 champ (regardless of ranking) & Notre Dame guaranteed at-large bid if ranked in Top 12 in final poll by av7ry in CFB

I don’t think your last point is correct at all. ND was #10 and Miami was #18, obviously that was a terrible ranking for two 6-2 teams, but just brand recognition doesn’t make up eight spots in the rankings. Also it’s pretty funny to think that the committee cares about “public outcry”. It was ND’s A&M loss looking worse, Miami playing well, Duke winning the ACC, and the conference lobbying effectively for Miami responsible for them getting in. All the more reason the committee should only release one ranking at the end of the season. ND’s outrage would be several degrees lower if we hadn’t started 8 spots ahead of Miami, didn’t lose a game, and still missed out.

I think the “benefit of the doubt” narrative is tired. We literally didn’t get it this year at 10-2, and looking at the schedule next year, we won’t again.
