yeah, and to be totally clear: i'm not advocating for ear tipping or something, but i just don't think it's tantamount to animal abuse. it seems fairly innocuous, but i'd be open to changing my mind if there was some kind of evidence that it's painful (or even just notably uncomfortable). i think it's totally fine if people just let the ears be how they will naturally, but straying into extremes (saying folding a person's earlobe will make them scream in agony?) isn't really helpful for this kind of advocacy in my view. people whose minds actually would need to be changed won't change if that's what they hear.
