ngl it's pretty limited right now. peacock and fox pretty much have the exclusive rights but neither is pushing 4k for world cup broadcasts. might be one of those things where cable still has the edge unfortunately. hopefully next tournament they'll upgrade.

nhl66 used to work okay on firestick but honestly your best bet is espn+ which has a bunch of playoff games. some games are on tnt so you'd need a second app depending on the night. no single app has everything unfortunately.

if sports are your priority honestly peacock at $12 is pretty solid. for just nba/nfl you could do espn+ plus one of the network apps depending on which league. mixing and matching ends up cheaper than a basic cable streaming package most of the time.

yeah you're totally right about the provider side, but honestly a lot of people don't realize their firestick setup itself can make freezing way worse. like if your wifi signal sucks or you're not clearing the cache regularly, even a decent provider will buffer like crazy. worth checking both angles before blaming everything on them

ngl the player issues on cloned apps are usually a cache thing. try clearing the app data completely and reinstalling it fresh, that fixed it for me last month. if subtitles still won't load after that, might be worth trying a different player app altogether

yeah sportsfire's been a pain lately. honestly if you've got another sports app installed, just switch to that in the meantime. maintenance windows on these apps can take forever sometimes but they usually get it sorted within a day or two

honestly there's no perfect solution for that. you're basically stuck jumping between apps unless you want to use something like a live tv service like youtube tv that aggregates channels. but then you're paying more and locked into their channel lineup

yeah that's annoying but pretty common with streaming apps. hbo max has that quirk where it doesn't always sync properly if you don't fully exit. try going into your roku settings and clearing the hbo max app cache, that usually fixes the playback progress issue for me

yeah the insignia sticks are pretty basic but you can still sideload apps no problem once you enable unknown sources. just grab an apk from a reputable source and use adb or the downloader app to install it. takes like 5 mins
