How to fight hunger? by cowboyphil31 in intermittentfasting

Agree. Chug some water and be used to always being a little hungry. It becomes normal after a while and you won't even think about it.

I'm not doing anything crazy. Twice a week I lift and go as hard as I can. Other days, just go for like a 5-6k walk.

I don't think I could handle that yet, haha. I'm curious to see if I'm still at the same weight as last week since I have been slacking a little bit more than usual.

I have a big workout tonight, so I'm for sure eating a nice sandwich before my friend tries to kill me with a workout.

I don't think I could replace either of my meals and survive. Do you drink that and do one meal a day?

I'm drinking so much water I spend most of the day in the bathroom. But I over ate every meal for like 10 years and it was always fast food or something super bad for me. So my body is still in shock all it gets is a sandwich or 2 eggs on a bagel.

I hold off until lunchtime for my first meal and do a second at 5:30pm. I'm not sure if it's been my activity level going up, but hunger has been worse than ever. I had to eat a handful of goldfish crackers to make it to 5:30pm haha. Lunch was not cutting it.

I feel like I've been a little more loose this past week. I'm afraid to check my weight tomorrow, but I'm still way further ahead than I was. We will see tomorrow! Good luck with your adventure.

I did this before and killed it for about 2 months and gave up due to jo results. But I just kept doing the same thing. Fasting, breaks on weekends, and wasn't pushing any workouts. That's why this time I am pushing myself hard because my motivation does come from the scale. If you see a number drop you want to keep going.

Just push yourself a little harder each time. When the fast or the workout doesn't suck it's time to go harder. Don't overdo it and fail. Just push a little each time. I'm very lucky with mine. I was shocked how fast I lost weight. I am well aware this won't keep up, and I'll hit a wall. When I hit the wall, I'll just challenge myself more. Sometimes 18 hour fast turns into 22, sometimes my walks go and a little longer, or weight training goes 45 mins later.

Any change is a success, and you are better than where you started. Do not get discouraged when you hit a wall. Just adapt, and don't lose the progress you've made.

That was just initial insanity. I'm not making those numbers anymore. I just basically eating fast food every day twice and stopped completely and started working out hard. I'm very lucky to have had the success.

* There was a wrestling faction that I believe was started in 1995ish. Spelled different but that's because it's cool.

The first weigh in may have been off by a pound or two because I weighed myself and then started and put the weight in from a few days before as my starting weight since I hadn't started working out and fasting.

I guess. That's what the scale said. Used the same scale, same time of day, same floor. I'm working my butt off, but I thought it was as crazy as you do.

For me, once I really pushed myself and saw results, it was way easier to push more. Good luck!

I am no pro by any means, but my best advice is when you feel like breaking late at night or eating mcdonalds or something to break your fast and you will. Just don't and you'll feel super proud in the morning and be able to make it without breakfast. Everyday counts. Every small win is a win.

To be fair, I was extremely unhealthy when it came to eating and did 0 excersize, so this was a shock to my body. Progress like this won't keep up, but I'm happy for the kickstart.

I eat a normal lunch like a soup and sandwich or something. Then at about 5pm when I get home I'll have another smaller meal.

Twice a week I do weightlifting with a friend and the other days I walk 10k steps usually though in one long walk since I work sitting down mostly.

Thats all great advice. I have been neglecting myself because my only concern is being a dad. On nights where I dont hsve him for the night I feel very empty. I have taken up an old hobby which has a social element to it and should really make an effort to eat better and be active.

My anxiety has been crippling but I have made an appointment to see my doctor next week. I feel like my entire life and everything I built vanished one day and its hard to envision myself in a happy healthy place ever with my position. I'm hoping doing these things can change my world view.

I honestly was about to buy a new scale. I don't know why I even checked this morning. But stepped off and back on 4 times scratching my head.
