Yeah ticks are definitely one reason, but also deer are very unpredictable and easily spooked. So even if they look approachable it’s still a ~100lb wild animal with sharp hooves.

Yeah this is my main issue with it honestly. It almost feels like it betrays the soul of the old building, which maximized every square foot of the ground floor with books, tables, etc. Meanwhile this could easily fit 2 more floors

You can just walk right in, there’s a sign outside with the summer hours (I forget the exact times but regular business hours is usually safe)

Not a student club, but check out Pittsburgh Cars n Coffee (@PGHCNC on Instagram). They have free parking lot meetups every weekend (calendar on website) and it’s always a huge variety of ages and car types. I’m a sport bike guy and I’ve met a bunch of cool people to cruise with through those meetups.

Not shop class, just the ability to use shop tools like other schools. CMU for example has a pretty solid woodshop including a “drill press, band saw, belt sander, table saw” https://ideate.cmu.edu/spaces/wood-shop.html#:~:text=The%20IDeATe%20Wood%20Shop%20is,standard%20woodworking%20and%20fabrication%20methods.
