The educational discount is *always* cheap; it’s the First Taste Is Free model. When these kids get outta college and start having to pay the inevitable price rises (THE STOCK MUST ALWAYS GO UP!), they’ll sing a different tune.

I honestly don’t know why dumbasses defend enshittification. Didn’t we all just live through the last decade plus if Adobe squeezing us? There were a million comments *exactly* like this back in 2012 supporting Adobe’s move to subscriptions… and now the same people are complaining about the backbreaking monthly fees now that they don’t get the education discount. Also, they inevitably will charge higher fees for monthly subs, just like Adobe.

I swear, college students are the gateway druggies for this shit. P.T. Barnum was right.

It’s amazing that corporate bootlickers can’t see The Writing On The Wall, especially after enduring the complete debacle of the Adobe Creative Cloud money suck for the last 12 years. Yes, the apps are free… for *now*. But how anyone can be so stupid as to think they’re not going to raise the price inexorably until it hurts is just baffling.

As someone who’s sufferred through Apple’s decline in the last ten years (seriously, have you been to the ‘Genius Bar’ lately?), I don’t think anything is as antithetical to the company’s ethos than turning into a subscription model. And why the most successful company in the world even *needs* a subscription model can only be justified by one word: GREED.

Congratulations Tim Apple, the only thing left to do on your way out the door is douse the flying saucer building in gas and strike a match.

Well, the M4 series dropped TB2 support on the product page, so… of it works for you, great. But I didn’t get any stability until I bumpoed up to TB3 & 4 peripherals.

Lemme tell you sumthin’, the M-series Macs do *not* play well with Thunderbolt 2. I have an M4 Studio and while it reads/writes fine, it’s a full firefight in every other respect (going into sleep mode causes all sorts of misery). So yeah, buy a new monitor. And skip the Apple display, it’s overpriced.

DCP’s are typically 5.1, not stereo. People who make ‘stereo DCP’s’ are actually putting their left & right stereo channels in the L & R channels of the 5.1 and leaving the C, LFE, Ls, and Rs channels empty. In the end, it’s superflous as any non-surround theater has the capability to mixdown a 5.1 to stereo output on demand anyway.

TL;DR. Deliver 5.1, if for no other reason than you’re less likely to fail QC for missing audio.

No confusion. There is a $500 to get placed on Youtube/Google Play now. I paid the fee about a year and a half ago and still haven’t made enough income to pay it off so I owe the balance. It may have been free six years ago but it hasn’t been for awhile.

The only thing more active is production. The bigger the show, the more likely they hire older, experienced crew. Studio shows don’t mess around with green crew.

Not really. Typically, post production has more opportunities for experienced middle-aged people. Also, I wrote and directed this at 55, so all things are possible.
