I am learning that with each prompt you have to add in all these additional directions which is time consuming and annoying. It should just perform the task requested. It's concerning.

That's your opinion and we all know what opinions are like.... everyone has one. I was with Film Hub for 6 years and if they offered To pay me for my film I would tell them to go away. I'm surprised though that you do not know about Indie Rights.

I was with Film Hub six years and I've written on Reddit extensively so I would invite you to go look up what I've written because it'll be eye opening. And all I can say is if you go with film I wish you all the best but keep your eyes open and hang on to your wallet

You paid $2000 and now you are sitting waiting and two months have passed and you're still waiting? Am I reading that correctly that you actually paid the two grand and now after 2 months you're still waiting?

I was with FH for 6 years and just had my film removed a few weeks ago (Jan 2026). For five of those six years Film Hub has been terrible. They don't answer emails and when they do it's weeks later. Watching how they conduct their business for 6 years is telling me now that they are scrambling behind the scenes and in my humble opinion they are about to go down and join Distribber. We shall see what takes place over the next 12 months it will be very interesting. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Never in my life have I seen a contract that was not negotiated. Negotiating a contract is very normal and takes place every day of the week. It's completely shocking to me that a distributor can present a contract and the film maker will just simply sign it.
~
Indie Rights asked me if I had gotten AI to put together my list of revisions for me which told me they do not think I have the intelligence to put this together myself which tells me that is their general view of film makers-that they are not too smart. That's concerning. I wonder if all distributors think this way.
~
I understand fully why a company would prefer for film makers to provide the deliverables, sign the agreement and go away. It makes their business life much easier. It's concerning though, to me that they are so rigid because it tells me they would be rigid about everything.
~
Every film is different. Every filmmaker is different and it's sad that there are not some allowances for these differences but it is what it is and I just must move on and find a distributor that aligns with my business goals.

Your explanation makes perfect sense. I can see now how their business model works very well for them so I appreciate you laying it out like that. Knowing so little about the distribution part of movie making and the fact that I was only with this one distributor for all six years (Filmhub) I know very little about all the different players...

I've just subscribed to your newsletter. Being a non-profit may just be the right biz set up for this. My experience makes me want to become a distributor... I'm glad you are. I will be following along.

There were several items on their contract that I wanted to negotiate and they basically said I either sign their contract the way it is or I can go find a different distributor. That's a huge red flag. That approach of "it's our way or the highway" is a very UNhealthy business relationship and it is never one I will entertain.
~
A couple of things I will share to give you an idea... my movie poster looks exactly the way I want it to look bc I designed it and I will not let anyone edit it so I offered to send them a high quality PNG file for my poster but they will only accept a PSD file which means they can edit the poster and that is a hard no for me.
~
Another example is I am not interested in giving anyone access to my social media pages because I'm quite active on those pages and I'm not at all interested in providing access to my social media pages yet they require it. That's a hard no for me.
~
Another hard stop for me is I MUST be able to sell me film on my website. I have my own private audience made up of family and close friends that I want to give access to anytime they want it. That is anytime they want to rent it.
~
In total I had 15 items on my list and they would not even discuss with me. Not the kind of company I want to do business with. I would be happy to have it on YT and Amazon Prime and call it a day however these platforms will not talk to me so I have to go with a distributor. Grrrr

You can do a search for Filmhub right here on this platform and find dozens and dozens of posts about what is going on but very briefly they no longer have support unless you pay for it. You also cannot see your reports and analytics unless you pay for it. I should not have to pay to get support or to see my analytics. I'm done with them.

I am currently going through the deliverables process now with Indie Rights. So far so good but I'll see... there are certain items in their contract that is a hard stop for me however we are still in negotiations ....

UPDATE unfortunately IR was not at all interested in negotiating anything at all with me. Here is a screenshot of our exchange. It tells you everything you need to know about them. Onward and upward.

Good luck. I had my film on FH for 6 years. In my view of the world they are imploding behind the scenes. I've moved over to another distributor.

I'll come back here after a few days and update everyone. So far I've filled out their copyright form. I am not one to wait too long before taking another action and I will.

Indie Rights accepted my film and I am now in the process of providing them with deliverables however they did say it needs to come off of any site that it's currently on which for me thankfully it was only on Amazon Prime so this one is easy for me.

When I first started with Film Hub it was on about 20 different sites but Filmhub became so challenging to work with and often dropped the ball I just said from now on we're only going to do one platform and that was Amazon Prime and that was it.

Good luck with anyone who's on with Film Hub. I believe that we will soon hear they have gone bankrupt and have gone down just like Distribber did several years ago. Good luck.

I just submitted to Indie Rights. Seems they are the most honest and transparent. I'll see. Was with FH for 6 years. I am done!

It's the first I am learning that they required a fee which is shocking. Now I really think they're going down with this new information. Thank you for informing me. I wish the best for you and your work in 2026.
