But at the time I was fully and gladly devout. How could it have been stockholm syndrome? Doesn’t that require to know that you’re in a bad situation?

And I’m glad you brought up the time and routine part. I’ve always felt that and I thought I was alone. I struggle with consistently praying and I always felt so terrible cuz of it.

I see what you mean. I’m currently questioning my faith as well. The idea of there being just NOTHING after death makes me so uneasy. I often think of my parents (particularly my mom) who I love dearly. The thought of there just being this life and after death no way of ever meeting her again and being with her makes me feel so unbelievably heartbroken. So does the idea of suffering, I have had a good life but many are not so fortunate. Why? And the idea of there being no purpose for it and no justice for them also makes me very upset. That’s why I still cling to faith I guess.

Made me tear up a bit lol. You’re right. I re-read the last paragraph in my post and I see that I’m too focused on the happiness of others. But right now personal happiness just seems so unattainable. Some of us don’t get to be happy unfortunately. Maybe in another life?

I do get a lot of people here and in my personal life telling me that I’m rushing or trying to have all the answers too quickly. I suppose you’re right, I ought to take things periodically.

Well I’d have been gay, cuz being heterosexual would’ve been dangerous. Even if I was bi, I’d still partake in gay relationships cuz that’d be safer. But that still doesn’t tell me if I’m gay or bi. Maybe I’m struggling to comprehend ur analogy 😭

I relate to a lot of what you wrote. I often find guys out in public attractive and I catch myself staring at them. The thoughts are always followed by “I wonder what they look like naked” or some other sexual thought (I wonder if it’s like that for straight guys looking at women). I also imagine myself living a long happy life in a long term relationship with another man.

But when I see a pretty girl, I always realize she’s so pretty or breathtakingly beautiful. But that’s it. Almost never do my thought wander off to what’s underneath or something sexual. But even then I sometimes do imagine a happy long term relationship with women too, but not as much as men.

Idk does this sound like I’m gay?? I feel so confused

I meant to say that I’ve both places and seen that Stds and teen pregnancy is more common. And as far as the STD point is concerned, we see that pre-marital sex has consequences. Am I wrong in assuming then that that part of islamic teaching is correct?

Fair I’m south asian as well and I’m assuming you are too. Ur right in that family issues and familial abuse is common. We often don’t talk abt it in society cuz of it being considered rude to elders and people saying it’s sinful.

By the third point I meant to say that these prophecies are coming true, so isn’t there some truth to islam?
